for the short article and read for yourself. Assuming the article is accurate, it sounds to me the Russian 'developers' are in fact taking credit for the robot dog itself, which makes me suspect the black cloth wrapped around the robot was there to conceal its true origin.
I read the telegram tweet. At no point did they say they built it, just that it was built a certain way.

The longer RT article linked elsewhere specifically says that it was built with Chinese parts and technology.

Which sounds like the opposite of taking credit for the dog, and sounds exactly like showing off a prototype of a system that they built with what they could get their hands on.

I'm not aware of the RT article, but the that linked article is from a different news outlet (RIA Novosti). That said, you are correct that the article doesn't explicitly state or cite the developers as saying the robot was Russian-origin hardware.

By the way, could you provide that RT article? I want to find out what the RT article meant by "built with Chinese parts and technology". Thanks.

They are saying construction of each of these drones cost $16,000, unless they mean the armed version then that's a fry cry from the ~$ 2700 you can buy it for off the unitree website.

Looks like tankphobia provided the link. (Thanks!)
Just for the record, here it is, the article I saw:

The pull quote:
"Intellect Machine says that the prototype presented at the Army 2022 expo, which was primarily built using Chinese components and technology, cost nearly 1 million rubles (~$16,000). However, the company says it hopes to launch production of these robots in Russia in the near future. "

The robot dog again from Kestrel Defense. Two ways of deploying/transporting the robot dog. For direct deployment to battlefield, the dog can be dropped off by a drone as an underslung payload (images 1 and 2). For non-battle field deployment, it can simply be transported atop a drone (images 3, 4, and 5).

Kestrel Defense always show some useless gimmick, like weaponized robot dog and V-coptr drone.
