Is this an angle problem or does it look bigger than usual? Almost IFV sized minus troop compartment.

The Unitree B1 or B2 is a bit more viable for use as a slightly more robust robot dog for industry and military use.

Being a bit bigger than its predecessor, and more importantly able to carry a larger loads (30kg or 45kg) with useful endurance and mobility.

I suspect a decently sized stabilized gun mount with optics could actually be installed on it and reach minimum viability for urban/military use.

Though ideally you'd want something still a bit bigger, but they are getting there.

interesting article here about adoption of REEV into 3rd generation Mountain Cat platform to be used as UGVs

REEV offers various space saving + range advantages over traditional ICE motor

on top of that, Lidars & MMW Radar tech + 5G communication tech now solid enough to support fully autonomous vehicles for various missions

Tangentially related. The Snow Leopard 2 unmanned vehicle (part of the larger Snow Leopard 2 manned and unmanned family) has successfully completed a long-distance trek through Antarctica. It was part of a larger convoy that set off from Zhongshan science station, stopped over at the Taishan station, before finally arriving at the destination Kunlun station in the interior of Antarctica. The entire trip took some two months to complete, which thoroughly verified the performance of the Snow Leopard 2 family of tracked vehicles.
