Re: Type 95 assault rifle

The G model first popped up back in 07 it's not really a surprise that now it's becoming the more circulated carbine/Rifle. removal of the "P90-ish" trigger guard at first seemed an odd choice, however has time has gone by I have come too realize this was made for two reasons first the over all interior size of the guard meant that it like could have cause issues regarding comfort and accidental discharge as the thumb in the grip or the support hand on the grip would have forced the firing hand back more for comfort. for Contrast the P90 or the Famas G2 SMG have a much larger openings from the rear too foreword grip of the guard.
The " smooth" under side also seems too have been chosen for ease of mounting a accessory grenade launcher.
In the long Run I still suspect the Chinese will make a move too a rail system the changing of the forearm is consistent with such.

Other Changes known in the G include the addition of a selector switch at the pistol grip in early models the selector was in the awkward position of the rear stock. Causing a unique form of impromptu safety mode too be developed on the fly and changing form auto too single shot too be quite hazardous. the up select too rounds from the LMG/ Sniper Type 88 weapons and change in the muzzle.
the Chinese seem intent on keeping the Type 95 in service for some time and look too be adapting a upgrade system of new build and remodels.

Thanks for the information. But already knew about it.

What I'm saying is this isn't the normal Type 95 we are use to seeing, neither is it a Type 95G that was displayed.

At the moment there are several different variations of the Type 95 AR version

1) The early production. (Notice the trigger, 3 holes, forward hand grip)

2) 6 holes, different forward hand grip, different reload trigger

3) Type 95G (5 holes, another different forward hand grip, reload trigger basically thicker on from 1).)

4) Different carrying handle, same reload trigger as 2), different forward hand grip, 3 holes

The new ones that are shown in exercises and videos recently are 4) and my first picture of previous post.

Small minors changes here and there, that normally people who don't pay attention won't notice. But it seems that they have been in trial and error phase for forward hand grip and number of holes for effective cooling for barrel.

The 'new' version you are referring to is just the LMG version that came out with the original Type 95. It is distinguishable because of the features you already highlight, but also because of the integrated bi-pod on the (heavier) barrel.

That picture of the SWAT officer with the advanced scope and holographic display looks very interesting, and I have not seen it before. Can you post the original image (or point me to it) please? Any more pictures or info on it would be most helpful.

Cheers

By far the SAW version, QBB-95, could have 3 or 6 venting holes above the handguard - pic taken this year in May Day openhouse so should be "updated" enough...

Probably a case of parts commonality.

As for the SWAT QBZ-95, that's aftermarket M1911 rail kit and have EOTech 551 holographic sight plus electronic imaging unit (night vision devices) of unknown make; those were not surprising because the police are allowed to procure import gears so long the department can cough up the budget...though there're replica EOTech devices made in China but as far as I know those were for airsoft gaming, not rated for combat uses.

Uploaded the wrong image. That picture was for another post. I wasn't talking about the fancy optics and rail, I was talking about the actual rifle itself.

No QBZ-95G in-action pic available anywhere thus far, if that's what you mean, even the "showcase" that-is the HK garrison still sporting the original QBZ-95.

A new development with the grenade launcher...QLG10A that's optimized for QBZ-95-1 series.

So in the end the West/US loading-firing system was not contiuned and instead the Russian system prevailed...I can imagine that omitting the ejection of spent case as well as lesser moving parts might be the advantage - it might be just me, but my experience with samples available in the open house exhibits convince me that the QLG-91 ain't that ease to operate, kinda bad copy of the M203...

Any other ideas?

Take a close look at the second graphic type 95 carbine along side the front sight there looks too be either a flash light or perhaps some more advanced accessory.
