@sequ has there been any news on the Pakistan helicopter deal with Turkey? From what I know Turkey got sanctioned (or export block, not sure tbh) on the engines and it is not possible to build the helicopter now.

Has there been any solution proposed by the Turkish Industry?
Not that I know of, but the Philippines deal recently got the licence approved for the export of the engines. It seems the Pakistani deal is either dead, or pending an export license.

IMO the US won't grant the license to export the engines to Pakistan. So Pakistan has several choices. Go for the Z-10 or wait till the T-629 or T-929 come to fruition with Turkish engines or Ukrainian engines.

The changing geopolitical climate and the rapidly advancing Turkish military industrial complex makes it difficult for anyone to follow the latest developments. Something that I'm going to try to shine a light on it here on this forum.

IDEF '21 wil start in a month. Lots of goodies to showcase I'll be sure of that.

About the T929:

The T929 is a heavy attack helicopter with a MTOW of 11500kg using 2x2500hp engines of Ukrainian origin and perhaps later on 2x3000hp engines of indigenous origin called the TEI-TS3000. First flight stated to take place in 2023 and planned entry in service in 2025.
Max ammo payload is 1500kg. According to the head of TAI, the T929 is going to be more advanced than the Apache (don't attack me for it, it's his statement). Development cost is $1 billion.

The T925 is a GP helicopter which is going to use the same engine and accessories as the T929. Capable of carrying 19 men and will feature a ramp. Planned first flight in 2025 and planned entry in service in 2027. IMO we can expect specialized variants of it like a naval and ASW variant.

Btw, TAI is also working on a co-axial helicopter to be developed after the T929:

I have no idea how TAI is coping with all these programs:eek:. It is developing or building the TF-X, Hurjet, Hurkus, Anka, Aksungur, T129, T625, T629, T929, T925, T70, helicopter UAV, Co-axial rotor helicopter, F-16 upgrades (Ozgur), C130 upgrades (Erciyes) and satellites. Oh yeah a supersonic loyal wingman called the Goksungur is also in development.

Bear in mind TAI is just one of the many Turkish defense companies/institutions...

Without a millimeter-wave radar and a Hellfire L equivalent, it can not be equal to Apache

According to the Director of the Turkish Defense Industries (SSB) the price of the TF-X could get lower than $80 million. IMO that is only possible with more than 500 TF-X's sold. The Turkish air force is good for ~250 TF-X. Other countries such as Pakistan, Malaysia, Indonesia, Qatar, Azerbaijan need 5th gen fighters as well, starting from 2030.

When the TF-X rolls out on 18 March 2023, I expect a huge amount of interest in it from various countries. The TF-X might very well be the ITAR free 5th gen fighter the world is waiting for.

I wouldnt pay too much attention on the price claims.

What is most important is how the price is calculated. It just for procurement? What about maintenance?

What about training and logistics? What kind of service does the company offer?

For me, the best way get the price is procurement + lifetime maintenance

Sure, those are all important points but I don't think the life-cycle cost will differ that much from other modern fighters.
