I think the US is overplaying or will overplay its hand. There's a limit to how much pressure Chinese can take before we retaliate.

Then again, Chinese can take a lotta pain.

Look, in the end I think the US will ban all companies from China doing business in the US. If they do that then they lose all leverage over China. Xi is right, time to stop depreciating the RMB for the sake of exports to the US. We need to reorient the economy so it's domestically focused.

Strong, stable RMB will help with this transition. China needs to solve its import dependencies and retool parts of the export oriented economy into producing goods for domestic market. Also, consumption needs to be boosted via social welfare programs and other methods.

Again if banning TikTok helps his election, then Trump would ban TikTok. Trump only cares about Trump. That kid that derailed his election rally might have frightened Trump so he felt the need to ban TikTok.

I think the US will drop the mother of all hammers, as in will kick China out of this SWIFT before election time. this is crossing a rubicon of no return... after this either China comes out on top long term or the US, but there is no going back...

Where does XI say to stop depreciating RMB?

Won't happen. Ending SWIFT will cause people to lose confidence forever in the USD and Us backed financial system. That will truly be the end of US dollar and US hegemony.
