Instead, I think he's the most dangerous president of the US because he might destroy everything including himself.
To be honest, for a considerable period I maintained that Trump genuinely sought to save America in his own way, and indeed he recognised the nation's problems. But he simply lacked the capacity to improve the situation.
But now, I believe he came to power solely to satisfy his own vanity and line his pockets.
To put it more crudely, I used to think he was a stubborn fool. But now I merely regard him as a corrupt and vain businessman.

He did try, but when he realized that half of America would not mobilize under him and look up to his authority with unquestioning admiration but instead repay his initially good intent with derision and rejection, he turned his rage and his crosshairs within.
That is why I think Trump is smart. Although not exactly a genius.
He views this politics as a game. In games, you win some, you lose some.
Trump decided to look tough. Threatening 100% tariffs.
Then the Chinese commerce department made comments trying to justify these actions, which were not inflammatory, Trump immediately changes course.
This is the exact same strategy he used to win the first time for Trump 1.0 as he would say two things often contradictory, but people will only hear what they want to hear.
Here, we just stick to facts, that is the US economy is not doing that great, outside of the AI boom. More tariffs/taxes is the wrong choice.
So Trump quickly defuses this potential problem, and I believe most people will not come out and say the president is weak, that would mean some American is criticizing America as being weak, which is traitorous.
Life is funny. Trump learned a lot it seems with his partnership with Hong Kong businessmen who bailed him out decades ago. Trump kind of senses the Chinese still open to have some harmony here. I think he is right.
