Trump wants either him family or someone closely aligned to become 'oil barons' in venezuela, this was more about trump than US+oil companies on a whole.

Is Europe gonna bend the knee again, 'sell' greenland for protection or will they be pearl clutching when it’s taken over?
Since when have they gotten up? I could be wrong about this but to give a proper blowjob you kinda have to stay on your knees for extended periods of time and in the case of the Eurocucks, probably the past few decades.

There is no selling Greenland. The U.S. will just move in one day and take it. In the short term, the benefit of taking Greenland is small, but Greenland is closer to the U.S. then to Denmark. The cost of taking over Greenland for the U.S. is also very small. Given the mid-term election coming up, taking over Greenland is almost a certainty. If Trump is good at anything, this sort of theatrics is what he excels in.

For all intents and purposes, they more or less already informally own Greenland. They had basing rights already if I recall right. And supposedly they have moved special forces troops across Europe into positions that would allow them to enforce ownership at gunpoint if ever necessary. I would guess they're in a position to kidnap or assassinate any and all key policymakers across EU and Denmark, should it become necessary.

So this is what happens when you elect a US president who is willing to use American hard power to the full extent. US is effortlessly getting whatever the hell it wants and there's nothing the rest of the world can do about it.

I don't know if it's true but at least one EU official had commented that at least some of them regret collaborating with the US to try and weaken China. And that if they had hypothetically succeeded, the US would now be in a position to just outright subject Europe to any and all policies and force it desired. I hope more of them learn this hard lesson, but I suspect most have not and will not.

Weeeelllll, not exactly. The US isn't getting what it wants because it wants the capitulation of China. What it's getting is multiple consolation prizes to try to make itself feel better; America always had the power but never the desire for these prizes before when it didn't feel helpless against China.

It's the imperial midlife crisis. He got demoted at work so now he's beating his trailer trash girlfriends to feel like a hotshot again.

Informal ownership is not good enough. This is all about the midterm election so expect this to be blasted out at a crucial juncture of the election cycle.
