I get where you're coming from, and I too am skeptical that whatever sort of deal this is supposed to be will be fully consummated.
Venezuela produces about one million barrels of crude daily, so 30-50 million barrels would represent one to two months of current annual production. While submitting such a sizable "tribute" to Trump will be painful for Caracas, it's plausible if deliveries are spread out over the course of the remainder of Trump's term or some other extended timeline.
The Venezuelans may be operating under the assumption that they'll be "left alone," and that sanctions could even loosen if they fill up a VLCC (~2 million barrels) bound for a Gulf Coast refinery every month or two.
