Things that really bother you

People who are conditioned to only their points of view. Their opinions are influenced by their narrow-minded politics or fanatical religious beliefs. They don't analyze serious situations carefully, or consider contrary points of view and opinions. These kinds of people lack intellectual maturity and often bother others.

How you counter that is use their own beliefs against them. It never fails. They pretty much can't argue against unless they want to undermine their own supposed beliefs.

Two of my biggest pet peeves:

1) People who don't read the fine prints and then complain about being ripped off.
2) Marketers that try to upsell you things when you have made explicit what you want.

Public schools starting in August. WTH. Some across this nation start as early as August 4th.. WTH is that? Here in Iowa there's a law that states school cannot start until after Labor day...Cool.. but school systems may ask for a waiver. Guess what? all of them do!! Here in Cedar Rapids school starts the 25th of August. Many other school districts are opening up their fall semester TOMORROW!...and the 18th of August. what happened to summer vacation? Kids need to be kids not some robotic person with no social skills. Kids are NOT IN My opinion benefiting from extra days in school. Nope they are not. Many of them are still as ignorant as a post. opps..did I say that? yep.

End rant.

Yea wth? i thought china was bad trying to steal our summer vacation days. Back in elementary school in China our last exam didn't end until after the first week of july, and school starts on last week of august, yet they kept telling us that we have a "2 months" summer vacation...

Not to mention they give you homework for every single day of that "vacation"...

Good thing they were pretty lightweight for me, I used to just rush through them all in the first 4 or 5 days of the summer and never look back again.

When I went to school in ancient times..1957-1971.. we did not get homework over the summer.

I work for an education facility that;

... Area Education Agency is one of nine Iowa area education agencies (AEAs) established
by the Iowa Legislature in 1975 to provide equity in educational programs across the state.
Iowa’s AEAs work as educational partners with local public and accredited private schools to help
assure that all children reach their potential. Iowa AEAs are widely regarded as one of the foremost
regional service systems in the country, offering programs equitably, efficiently, and economically
on a regional or cooperative basis among school districts.

Translation.. they spend a lot of money..lots of it. Tons of it..I think some of the money could be used to bolster individual students education...But what do I know? I'm just a maintenance man.
