The Olympic Legacy in China

However that doesn't apply to ones that have been found cheating or other exceptions.

That goes without saying. No one can feel sympathy for a cheat, unless it's one of those cases of people testing positive for substances because they took medicine.

AssassinsMace, you're jumping all over the place.....moving from here to there....i'm not going to bother trying to reply. I'm just stating that tried to bid for the olympics in 1992 and won it in 2001. You said they weren't probably ready because they only knew since 2002-2003, which is wrong.

Jumping? Maybe it's because your argument is flawed and has no basis. We're talking your argument that the Olympics is the only driving factor in China's economy and when it's over you said China will crash. So according to you China's 30 years of economic growth were all because the Olympics. My point is that it's not. Where's your proof? Tell me what factors from the Olympics will change anything?

And I like your new thread about how vinegar tastes so good.

Re: Taiwan's Olympic Dream

Is it that hard to figure out? The countries that spend the money win the medals. I don't know how much Taiwan is spending but it certainly isn't paying off.

Which decision? Do you mean supportive of the government generally, or the Olympics? I can believe that, even if the people surveyed would have mostly been in the cities.

The overall policies in general. It was an independent pool by a company, I saw it is being cited an article in the NYT. They do the same survey ever year and in 2004 only about 40% was support of government decisions.

But how is that relevant to the Olympic legacy for China? It would help if you explain your view a little more clearly.

I was just noting that Olympics was not the only factor why people are supporting their government.

Like cheating in Interntional Little League Baseball? Look what country doesn't dominate anymore since that scandal was brought to the surface.

Alot of the Chinese were shut out (poor), and a great wall was built around them (literally). That has really annoyed alot of people, noticeably, China's poor population has tripled in growth.

Where did you get that figure from? The disparity between the rich and poor is large at the moment due to fast rising wealth on the east coast, but overall, everybody benefit from the growth. Not equally, but nonetheless still benefit. This is a common problem in developing country and would be addressed overtime by policies that distribute wealth.

I actually belief that the people here support the govt. I am more clear of the situation in the cities. For those people that doubt the number, you should come here and ask the people yourself. Don't worry, you won' t get arrested by the govt for asking that question.
