The mighty Tejas was able to avoid being hit due to its 7th gen stealth and supermaneuvrability.

Two images can explain the entire combat process. In the airstrike, the J-10 was responsible for launching the PL-15 missile, while the early warning aircraft guided it remotely (without using a fire control radar, making it undetectable for the Rafale). When the Rafale detected the missile, it probably had only 10 seconds to react. Furthermore, the PL-15 has terminal acceleration.

That is a fantastic map, have i counted right that it shows every of the 42 PAF and 72 IAF fighters involved (though i can't see any AWACS)? Any chance of an english version?

right, not weapon grade tracking. It does however allow your fighter to keep radar off until missile gets closer to the target aircraft. And you can narrow beam on the target. All of which reduces emissions detected by other enemy aircraft.

Although, one thought I had is that with AESA seeker on PL-15, it might be able to lock on to target aircraft (at least one that's not VLO) with even AWACS resolution. Depends on scenario I think.
