Thanks for the heads up for the PSA

Sucks for those Jai Hinds who rely on it assuming its the absolute truth.

This is off-topic but the fact that so many people on Twitter blindly rely on Grok to verify facts remind me heavily of Dune. The Twitter users have abdicated their duty to think and to reason. All the more reason for the Commandment that 'Thou Shalt Not Make a Machine in the Likeness of a Human Mind'.

J-16 has been in service for almost a decade now so…
If they were smart, IAF could've went all in on Flanker upgrade/indigenization when the J-11B revealed that its a viable avenue. Not wait for 20 more years to go down that route. Even they could've built decent subsystems in 20 years with some israeli, french or even russian help. Just lethargic and mismanaged from multiple levels like Lethe said.

As I said before, If data links are force multipliers, then multiple sets of incompatible data links are force dividers.

IAF needs systems integration rather than the performance of a single equipment.

Before buying more newer F-35, Su-57, Rafale, and upgrading Su-30mki, IAF should ask itself:
Is the number and performance of my AWE&C and EW systems sufficient? Is my air data link integrated? What about the integration of ground-based air defense/early warning and air? Can the new equipment integrated well?

If the answer is "not yet" or even "cannot" (because the US/French and Russian systems are completely different), then the purchase is meaningless.

That's working under the assumption that the Indian Air Force and Government are rational actors. I think the opposite is true - they are all too likely to rush into major hardware purchases to save face and assuage the feelings of Hindu nationalists.

The Indian Embassy in Beijing is trying to deny their way out of the Rafale shootdown... on Weibo.

I don't think I need to mention how the comment section looks like.

The more Indian officials whine and complain on Chinese social media, especially with incredulous bullshit, the more Chinese netizens will want to mock and ridicule them and their country.

It's honestly kind of bizarre that Indian diplomats have yet to realize this.

A comprehensive Su-30MKI overhaul and upgrade program should've commenced immediately after production wrapped up at Nashik in 2021, using those same facilities and workforce, as the most cost-effective and immediate means of bolstering IAF combat airpower. That this did not occur (and has still not yet occurred) despite talk of a "Super 30" or "Super Sukhoi" program dating back to early 2010s suggests profound mismanagement, misallocation of resources and misapprehension of priorities, across multiple levels of leadership.

Ouch!

True, but I suspect relation with China is a bit more important to Russia than relationship with India right now. Also it would be super awkward for Xi-Putin bromance if Su57 gets smocked by J35

Looks like Indian pundits are already demanding Su-57 "Felons" in lieu of more Rafales from baguette country.

Ready to trade one can of worms for another!
