They have. Unfortunately not enough china companies willing to take a chance on them therefore they fall behind. That's why need influential players like huawei to take a chance and take a lead into this and start using them.

Actually China had developed much better lithography machine that can produce 22 nm chips and can be tweaked to produced 10 nm chips

even its obviously behind ASML, but not bad at all ;) ... considering China is a very later starter in this field

Nah, it’s the same “allegation” as the spy chip story. Their media will say anything to toe the Washington line and right now it’s about to make US look strong even as the trade deal will restrict their actions towards Chinese companies.

The only concrete proof ever showed regarding China’s spying was gathering intelligence. US is maliciously misappropriating the IP theft term just as they have misappropriated the national security term. The location of CIA officers, OPM personnel information, true capabilities of US military platforms, compromat on US officials, are not intellectual property, at least not as the layman understands it. It is about understanding a potential enemy so actions and preparations can be taken.

According to their own standards, what the CIA did in Madrid was IP theft. What they are doing in Latin America right now is IP theft. While Intel gathering is the “stealing” of information, very few countries consider it to be IP theft, which is within the commercial and technological realm.

Notice its by The Institute of Optics and Electronics under the Chinese Academy of Sciences.
So it's nothing more than demonstration of concept. It's in the right direction.
but needs big player like huawei to commercialize the equipment and use in large scale for producton.

The link I shown you is actual product for industrial usage.

It wasn't the Chinese government, but South Korean tech company Samsung that was behind

, CEO of the Dutch company Peter Wennink suggested in an interview with broadcaster NOS.

After it became clear that someone was stealing trade secrets from ASML in the United states, ASML hired a company to find out who was behind it. The stolen software ended up with ASML's competitor Xtal, which was financed by both China and Korea.

"There is no hundred percent certainty. We have not found any evidence of any connection with the Chinese government. What we have found evidence for is that the products were stolen by people of American and Chinese nationality, with a Chinese background, and that those products were used to provide services to our largest Korean customer", Wennink said.

According to NOS, he is very likely referring to Samsung. The company "enthused" the spies to steal software from ASML and start their own business, thereby creating a competitor for ASML. The stolen software is needed to set up chip machines for optimum production of electronic chips. In 2016, Samsung became a 30 percent shareholder in Xtal, and ASML subsequently lost Samsung as a customer for this software.

Samsung Nederland was not available to comment to NOS on Tuesday night.
