Suggestion: Implement Peer Moderation on SDF

I've been around here since 2006 I think - ish, though this this account might not reflect that. I really disagree with the discussed implementation of peer moderation. It not incentivises making posts that contribute little towards discourse or discussion in the interest of garnering "likes", but also provides an avenue such types that do so to litter such nonsense wherever they see fit. The Ladakh thread in Strategic Discussion is prime example.

I have seen many online discussion forums fall prey to this, and given the recent influx of immature and frankly uninformed members, I do my best to dissuade you of doing such here. SDF has been an excellent, reasonably well-balanced and mature board for the better part of 2 decades of my life - I would be genuinely upset to see it fall apart.

To be blunt about it, a lot of behaviour in certain threads should warrant banning - I would rather keep this place apart from nationalist chest-thumping types. Let them set up their own BR. There are many high quality posters here that don't need diluting via meaningless posts and sensationalistic political posts.

Wow. That's a long time lurking without contributing. Maybe it would be better that you should contribute more with your high standards in the future to keep check on the rest of us without self control from degenerate into chest thumping nationalist. What do you say?

I don't feel the need to "contribute" pointless drivel as you do. If someone well informed has made a point I'm more than happy to just move on. My larger problem with the current state of this forum is that people like you unfortunately exist here.

You don't even make sense. You're the exact type I just spoke of too. Make a shit forum of your own. Kindly refrain from doing the same here. The best contribution would be your absence,

Wow. A raw nerve I hit. If that's your high standard of contributing. It is little wonder you don't contribute at all. Keep lurking and we hear from you in another 20 years time.
Good bye.
