Seems unnecessarily violent and it can't be good for the environment. Isn't it equally effective and more environmentally friendly, and probably more financially friendly, to expropriate the boats for auction or for dismantling for scrap?

Look at it this way...new homes for undersea creatures.;):p

Just ran across a picture and on further search it turned out to have been designed by a Vietnamese citizen and his son. One of the sources used:

Great effort by a civilian however that thing would be a waste IMHO. Too much for civilian/police type control and too little for actual warfare. Heavy machine guns and RPGs can easily defeat it.
There are thousands of used APCs that are much better functionally and offer better protection that you can get for literally the cost of a sports car in the worlds arms market.

Just curious. Were any Chinese (China) fishing boats "taken down" for illegal fishing? Are reciprocal actions taken against Indonesian boats intruding into another country's terriritorial waters for fishing or carrying illegal immigrants justifiable in the eyes of the Indonesian goverrnment? Are these actions i.e. "destroying of boats" legally condoned by the UN?

Female members of the Philippine National Police (PNP) hold their service pistols that are covered with tape during the sealing of the muzzles of firearms at the National Capital Region Police Office in Taguig, Metro Manila. A police officer said all policemen in the country are ordered to seal their firearms muzzles to prevent the indiscriminate firing of their weapons during Christmas and New Year holidays celebrations.

That's always the case but indiscriminate firing still happens every year resulting in death and injuries ...
