Babcock Completes Design for future ROK Navy KSS-III Submarine Weapon Handling System

Babcock has successfully completed the design definition of the Weapon Handling System (WHS) for South Korea’s Jangbogo III submarine (KSS-III), marking an important milestone in the project. Babcock was awarded a contract by DSME (Daewoo Shipbuilding and Marine Engineering) to design the Weapon Handling and Launch System (WHLS) for the 3,000 tonne Jangbogo III submarine, and manufacture the equipment for the first two boats of a class of up to nine.

However there is space amidships and anchor points for mounting six (6) quad launchers (three on each side)and thus giving to the vessels the amazing power of 24 SSMs! This load is unrivaled by any kind of warships worldwide with the exception of those carrying cruise missiles.

And SSM deck you can see anchor points for mounting three quad launchers on each side of the SSM deck. Boxes for attaching missile umbilical wiring that connect missile to CIC were also evident.

Maximum warload: 24 Harpoon anti-ship missiles.

Uh...I do not see any Apaches in that formation. unless they have named another helicopter "Apache."

Normally when you think of an Apache helicopter, this is what is meant:
