South China Sea Strategies for other nations (Not China)

I'm consistent in saying China takes advantage of its power to pursue its national interests. Like other nations, China rather go with peaceful and cooperative means, because that's easier, but should push comes to shove, China would use all of its power, including bribery, coercion, and intimidation to achieve its objectives. Can you name a great power that doesn't?
The only nation I see pushing is PRC.
I also remember that all nations using the aforementioned tactics ultimately loses to the lesser power when given enough time.

To claim China's the only nation pushing (in SCS) is irrational and demonstrably false. Did you mean to say something else? I'm sincere in the asking, because in my experience, you don't usually make thoughtless arguments.

I believe pushing back is a reacting response which only happens when the first push had been intiated. To my eyes this whole mess happened when PRC first declared the 9 dash line and started occupying the area through force.

You should go back to the colonial powers sending their gunboats everywhere and forcing everyone to stake claim or lose out, no more fudging. From the British taking over all of India as well as a quarter of the planet, Russia rolling across Siberia to Alaska, through Japan annexing the Ryukyus and invading Korea, China, the Philippines, Burma, and so on, to the US colonizing the Philippines and militarizing Okinawa and elsewhere... China by no means started it and in fact is coming late to the game only because it has no other option.

Does any of the exampled you mention have anything to do with SCS?
If not then it has nothing to do with the present situation at hand.

The statement I made was pretty obvious i.e. (i) acknowledgement China's right (which you said I did not); and (ii) questioning its behaviour. Both are independent concepts.
If that were all you said, then you would be right. Fortunately, the forum preserves your entire message, and the problematic part is-
In my view that is simply disingenuous of China of taking the benefits and not the obligations.
Your statement was in context to China opting out of the arbitration portion of UNCLOS. By opting out, China decline the obligation of being involuntarily hauled into the IJC, but it also gives up the benefit of hauling others by the same means. Taken your statement at face value, it means either you misspoke, or you're bias against China on at least this issue. I'm perfectly willing to believe either case.
