Re: Sinodefence.com Suggestions

How about making a few "summary" maps for the army, navy, and air force like the ones below from Congress' report on the PLA? I think they would be very convenient if a visitor wants to, say, look up quickly where the PLAAF 44th Air Division, where J-10s are deployed, is geographically.

Also, would it be a lot of trouble to make the fonts throughout the website scalable? (for example "medium" instead of 8pt). I've always found that the text is a bit too small for comfortable reading, and have had to use my browser's magnify function.

Re: Sinodefence.com Suggestions

yes, I will try to sort out the links in J-8 and J-6 pages, as well as photos of H-6, Q-5, and JH-7. These links are broken simply because the pages are not finished yet.

To: Undead Yogurt - yes, it would be great to have those kind of maps in the "Organisation" section of the website. However, I am not an expert in CG so it may take me some time to draw something like that.

By the way, I've fixed the style sheet so you should be able to adjust the size of the fonts using your IE font setting now.

Thank you both for your valuable inputs :)

For the "Recent Posts" box, can you make it so when one click a topic, they would be directed to the last page (newest posts) as opposed to arriving at the first page (earliest posts)? This will make it more efficient. Thanks!

It already does as you suggest. Just click on the thread title uner the last post colum on the forum home page and it will take you to your latest unread post.

I hope this helps you:)

The feature doesn't seem to apply to clicking on the threads in the Recent Posts box, but thanks for the help.

Great! Thank you for the correction. In the SX2150K 5 Tonne Truck page
Please, Log in or Register to view URLs content!
, the link for SX2151 appears to be the same as SX2150K, so instead of having it be redirected to SX2150K, it might be better to have the two links be dimmed at the same time. This will not give the impression that SX2151 page doesn't exist.

OK, I've combined the two links. Actually I was going to make a seperate SX2151 page but then realised that I do not have enough information. So it is for the best to combine the two totally

Sure, click on the icon where the arrow is pointing... it will take you the last UNREAD post in the thread.

See image for a visual.

Thanks and enjoy!

@dear moderators:

I have noticed that recently some members have been warned or even banned (you know the suspects) who probably come from countries (of course I cannot know that for sure!) in south east asia and the middle east where the internet is a fairly novel and heavily restricted information and communication tool. Consequently they know little about an acceptable standard of internet behaviour (´netiquette´) and their often crude and authoritarian style employed in their argumentation (+ a bad command of the english language!) often simply reflects their respective societies/civilizations.

Most of our members are Americans, Europeans and East Asians and as a forum about China´s military and security a certain standard has to be set and also consequently enforced but perhaps we should give new members from certain above mentioned regions a second chance. After a while they will probably learn their lesson and we will eventually appreciate knowledgeable members from countries where our current level of information is quite limited. My own experience on some pak and indian forums suggests that after an initial shock (do not get pissed off too soon!) a valuable discussion is thoroughly possible.

Please do not get me wrong:
I do not propose giving some ´third world people´(e.g. Pak,Arab,Myanmarese) a license to provoke and troll around where an american or chinese member would certainly get the boot. We are well advised not to lower the standards but we could make perhaps an extra effort of ´educating´new ´special´members to pass the ´test´!
