of course I don't who's the attacker and if the attack was military-related, but I mean to say the world is upside down

After the failed Coup back in 91. Yeltsin broke up the KGB creating the FSK that was later reorganized into the FSB. Not the first bit of alphabet soup for the agency. They have had a dozen over their history.

The Building was originally an Insurance company until the Bolsheviks decided they wanted it it became Checka HQ. old joke was it was the the Tallest building in Moscow as you could see the Gulags of Siberia from the building basement.

The PAK DA, which is being developed by Russian aircraft manufacturer Tupolev, will be capable of operating in stealth mode. The bomber is expected to be capable of conducting flights lasting up to 30 hours. This reported by Sputnik.

Russia's Prospective Aviation Complex of Long-Range Aviation (PAK DA) will enter operational service with the Aerospace Forces by 2027, when the active state arms program terminates, as well as Borei-A missile submarines, Deputy Defence Minister Aleksey Krivoruchko has said in an interview with Oborona Rossii, an official magazine of the country's Military‑Industrial Commission.

"Under the state arms program, units of modern military and special equipment, which are not inferior to the best foreign analogues and often have no analogues in the world, will enter operational service in the period until 2027. Borei-A strategic missile submarines, the Prospective Aviation Complex of Long-Range Aviation, and strategic missile systems — both fixed and mobile — will enter operational service with the strategic nuclear forces", Krivoruchko said.

Sorry if my reply will be rated as rude, but I stopped reading after this sentence: "to enter operational service by 2027"!

That's a joke and nothing more that propaganda and i really don't understand these constant chest-bumping reports from certain countries - esp. Russia and India - in which completely impossible claims are made most likely only for the own readership.

If you look at the latest track record of the Russian aviation industry it's a pity but a fact, that it is a plain shadow of its former might. So think that in now 7 years a strategic stealth bomber is built as a prototype, test flown and ready for operational service is XXXXX (please fill in whatever you want), but this is not possible.

The submarine, designed by the Malakhit Marine Engineering Bureau and built in the northern port city of Severodvinsk, will enter service in the Russian Navy in 2020.

Just a reminder about the difference between the virginia and yassen:
yasen virginia.jpg

The small one is the Virginia.

The difference between the two ship class is like between a frigate and a destroyer and it reflected in the armament as well.

So, it is a bit funny to read things like "The Yasen-M line is expected to occupy the same performance league as the U.S. Virginia class of fast-attack submarines." from the

.

It is like saying the "Perry class frigate is in the same performance league like the Burke class destroyer " : D

If you look at the kind of missions that both submarines are to perform and their capabilities and limits the comparison is not too far off.

In terms of range both subs are the same, ditto will go for speed. In terms of stealth I will give the benefit to the Virginia solely because it has a pump jet system compared to the Yasen's conventional prop. The kind of armament that they will carry are also quite similar, apart from that the Yasen can fire Kalibr missiles both subs uses torpedos, and cruise missile of roughly the same kind of range and performance to service targets. By sheer volume the Yasen can carry more missiles than the Virginia I will give it that. But given the kind of tempo and number of Virginia's in service that is not so much a disadvantage.

Merely bringing up the differences in size of the two omits much other issues because a sub is very different from a surface vessel. Especially a nuclear one.
