The newest engine for OTA aircraft has been designated "Product 177C"
"The latest 177C engine for tactical aircraft boasts improved performance and is a fifth-generation engine. Reduced fuel consumption in all operating modes helps reduce operating costs. Furthermore, the engine provides increased energy consumption for powering the electronic systems of modern aircraft. The power plant also increases their range," the statement reads.
UEC materials on display at the exhibition note that the "Product 177S" matches the AL-31F engine in dimensions and weight, ensuring full interchangeability with existing power plants. The new engine has a specified service life of 6,000 hours. The fan design ensures safe operation of the "Product 177S" when ingested by foreign objects and birds.
The engine features a fully automated digital engine control system (FADEC) with a backup hydromechanical control circuit. The 177S engine produces 14,500 kgf of thrust in full combat mode and 9,000 kgf in maximum combat mode.
