These are very nice frigates, the Admrial Grigorovich class. Basically the Russian version of the Talwar Frigates built for India.

I believe they have ordered six of them, right? This one, the Admiral Makarov is the third.

A good fit:

1 × 100mm A-190 DP gun
1 x 8 UKSK ASM VLS (3M-54E Klub or 3M55 Oniks)
3 x 12 VLS cells (36 missiles) for 3S90M Shtil-1
2 × AK-630 CIWS
8 x SA-16
2 х 2 533mm torpedo tubes
1 x RBU-6000 rocket launcher
1 x 1 Ka-28 or Ka-31 helicopter

Not including the frigates that have been launched but not commissioned yet, here's a rough outline of Russian Navy blue water combatants:

01 x Carrer
04 x cruisers
15 x Destroyers
10 x Frigates
07 x SSGN
17 x SSN
20 x SSK

79 major combatants

By comparison, here's the US Navy blue water combatants (roughly)

10 x CVN
22 x Cruisers
64 x Destroyers
08 x Frigates
04 x SSGN
55 x SSN

163 major combatants

These numbers do not include the Amphibious forces, where the US holds a large lead.

The Yantar shipyard in Kaliningrad set afloat the third Project 11356 frigate, the Admiral Makarov, in a ceremony on Wednesday. It is planned to enter the Russian Navy inventory in 2016, and the Navy will receive the first two ships in the series - the Admiral Grigorovich and Admiral Essen frigates - before the end of 2015.

The ships in the class have a displacement of 4,000 tons, a speed of up to 30 knots and an endurance of 30 days. They are armed, among other things, with the Kalibr-NK missile system and 100-mm

I know that many of you are not fans of the web site “war is boring”. However there is a very interesting article of my third favorite aircraft (Tu-95 and Mirage III being first and second):

Small but mighty, the Yak-130 trainer doubles as an effective multi-role fighter

Yeah but it doesn't travel as far as the F-16 with the same payload.

Very true amigo! However for 3rd world Air Forces they are cheap to maintain and purchase. You could buy 4 Yak-130 for the cost of an F-16 block 60. Although used F-16MLU have been purchased for between 12 and 15 million each. Chile purchased for 36+/- F-16A/B MLU from Holland three years ago. There are having a difficult time with the maintenance.

(Defensa.com) Interested in acquiring Lockheed Martin F16 (the Tranche C / D) to complement the fleet IAI kfir that were recently repowered and due to technical problems they have had with the drop of 4 active units and delivery phase, the Colombian Air Force (FAC) has decided to study and apply the experiences of several users F16, visiting for it bases where they are deployed.

-FACh- Chilean Air Force, has been one of the destinations of commissioned officers for this purpose and according defensa.com has noted, the FACh would have recommended their Colombian counterparts to consider all possible variables if they decide in the future buy F16s second hand due to some technical problems experienced fleet acquired by Chile to the Netherlands in 2005, consisting of 18 units of F16 MLU M2 (11 F-16AM and 7 F-16BM) and in 2008 18 more units of F16 MLU M4. In fact, apparently the FACh has made known to the FAC, that its program of modernization of F16 aircraft, rushing ENAER under the supervision of the Dutch company "Daedalus" in the Under the "Pacer Amstel" program, which seeks to standardize all aircraft to level 4 Tape, presented disadvantages and cost has been higher than initially established, which adds to the inconvenience of having three different versions of this aircraft taking that include F16 Block 50/52 fighters new. Can be interesting but i don' t see the interest of a comparison btw Yak-130 and F-16 they are not all in the same category.

Mentioned several times maybe Yak-130 in the futur could replace the Su-25 in Russian AF ?

Yes the F-16 and Yak-130 are not comparable. However, the Russian Air Force has discounted the Yak-131 (a single seat version of the Yak-130), since the yak-131 did not demonstrate a high enough level of protection for its pilot.

In my personal opinion I feel the Yak-130 will make a grate replacement for the A-4 Skyhawk. I think the YAK130 is a great little aircraft that’s cheap to buy and maintain, and it can be used in all roles trainer, light attack, recce, anti-air, anti-ship/sub, as well as being able to operate from unpaved and

.

It might not meet Russian pilot protection standards but it’s still a cheap alternative to flying higher cost aircraft during peace time operations, ideal for recce and maritime recce.

It’s also a capable light attack/anti-air/anti-ship/sub aircraft, and although it will never be as good as the higher cost aircraft it’s still cheap and capable. Syria seem to be doing alright using their Aero L-39's as attack aircraft, having only lost a 2 or 3 in 2 yrs. of conflict.

It’s also a great aircraft for defense forces or countries with a small military budget. I think some African, central and

could be potential customers for the light attack role, and anti-drug and COIN operations.

You could also make a UAV out of it. And as the yak-131 would have better aerodynamic performance and be cheaper than the Textron Scorpion.

I have wondered what a slightly longer version of the Yak-130 with a single RD-33 engine or after burning
