Thank you..

It was very warm here today.. The hi was 86F ..I think..wonderful. But a cold front will move in in the next couple of days and knock that temp down by 30-35 degrees.

Gas has jumped up to $3.39 a gallon for unleaded plus. Robbers. Unleaded regular is .10 a gallon more. Unleaded plus is a 10% ethanol blend.

Just about a week ago unleaded plus was $3.24 a gallon..

Couldn't say a word when seeing the photo and reading your comment. I know the feeling of losing beloved one. Just hoping you strong though those have left us still wishing us living happily even without them.

Gas in the US is $3.39 per gallon which translated into $0.8955 per liter and you call that robbers. Gas in Cambodia is $1.29 unleaded regular!!! Would you call it alien invading? Hybrid cars, especially Toyota Prius and I plan to buy this one too, are getting more and more popular in Phnom Penh now and you know why! Gas just too expensive.

So in Cambodia gas is $1.29 a liter? Not as bad as Europe where gas is about $7 USD a gallon and more. I call the gas companies robbers because they can charge almost any price they choose...by the way fuel prices in the US are very, very varied..check out the gas buddy map...Low of $3.07 to a High of $3.95.

Godspeed to you Jeff
That red is all titanium built in a cage around my last 3-4 vertabrae on my spine, and then anchored with those big long bolts into my hip bones.

They pretty much took me apart and put me back together again when they took my sacrum out. That's the large open area below my spine and between my hip bones. There is supposed to be a large bone in there connetced at the top to your spine with a complex U-Joint, and then along each hip with two more u-joints on each side. All of that is gone in me now.

But God in Heaven has blessed me greatly. I still work full-time, I can walk without a cane or walker, and I never missed a day of pay. Friends all over the country working for the agency I work for, for the VA, and for several of the armed services donated enough leave to me that my over six months was more than taken care of. I had almost ten months donated.

So, there are silver linings and tender mercies from God even in the most difficult circumstances.

$7++ per gallon which translate into nearly $2 per liter is really robbing. But you gotta ask what are included in gas price. Gas is a very special product that would include many things in it such as road maintenance fees and so on. In Cambodia, gas price is pure gas price, just high import duty. Furthermore, gas is monopoly control by one company, S.K.M. Other gas company needs to obtain quota from this company to import and sell gas. Retail price is agree by Cartel. They react very fast when international gas price goes up, but react slowly when international price comes down! THEY ARE TRUE ROBBERS!

Well...again, thank you and God bless you.

I have found, that when thanking people, like yourself, who graciously help in such causes...like with always remembering to thank anyone I see who has put on the uniform and sacrificed in defense of our liberty and constitution...you can never be too kind with such thanks.

God's speed and Bravo Zulu!

For us old farts..you have to realized that gas in the US was hovering around anywhere from $1.20 -$1.50/gallon or so for pretty much the entire 1990's and early 2000s then jumped 2 or three times and never went back. There has never been such a significant jump in such a short period even during the 1980's oil embargo.

I know it's all relative but it was still shocking. Also unlike many countries in Europe or Asia the folks here travel FAR! Most folks drive 20 or 30 miles to work one way and that's pretty normal.. that's 50 miles a day or 80 km just going back and forth to work. I have a colleague who drives almost 100 miles 1 way to work every day . That's 200 miles/day just in commute.
I think in many countries driving even 10 miles to work is uncommon.

Exactly.. when I move to Iowa 9 years ago gas was $1.54 a gallon for unleaded plus here in Cedar Rapids. Now it's $3.39..

30 miles may be a stretch but still..When I lived in San Diego my commute was 17 miles one way. Here in Iowa I only drive 6 miles one way. There are many folks here in eastern Iowa that travel the distances kwaigonegin described. fact.

My son works in Los Angeles. But lives in San Diego. No he does not drive to and from LA daily. Once or twice a week. He has a shared residence in LA he lives in while working there. He's in the TV/Movie biz..It's about 110-120 miles one way.

Ah...but it did go back to below $2,00 per gallon in the summer of 2008 before the elections when Bush announced we in the US were going to drill here offshore, in the Rockies in the shales, in ANWR, and on all Federal lands, and then started all of the paperwork necessary to do so.

The Suadis and OPEC immediately cut back prices to try and get out in front of that because oif the US goes whole hog and becomes independent, they will end up having to drink the stuff for their afternoon tea.

Then, when Obama came in, he put a stop to all of that (on Federal lands...he could not stop the privte exploration that is going on, but he has grossly overregualted it in an attempt to slow it down and keep the prices high) and the price has risen ever since.

Yes, people in Europe and America drive a lot. When I go to second-hand car shop and concern about the mileage of the car I was negotiating, the shop owner said normally, American car drive 10,000 miles a year. However, I see most American cars have more mileage than that.

For me, I drive 8km one way to work but the roads are always in traffic jam. It sometime took me one and half an hour to arrive at office before the overpass was built. My last monthly gas consumption was about US$150. I have sold my car and haven't bought a new one yet. Now, I ride scooter to work and it costs me around $30 of gas per month.
