Any Idea if the 191 will have an export version like the QBZ-97 is to the QBZ-95? Or is the CS/LR17 supposed to fill that specific role?

It's uncertain for now. Nothing has been confirmed nor discussed about export or civilian variant of 19's series.

Although there are some Professional Arms Users who for some reason practice with a dummy QBZ192 and 191.

This does not confirm that there will be an export version. It only leaves us with some speculation.

They have been exporting a M4 copy called CQ for decades that should have the same functionality as 191.

Theoretically, if they did make a 5.56 export version for the 191, where would the mag release go? The trigger guard seems to be too far forward to make a mag release easy to access.

Note STANAG magazine well on a rifle that has iterations that also accept AK magazine in other calibers.
These are three options if Norinco and China wants to make a derivative of the QBZ191 in 5.56x45mm/.223.
1) modify 5.8x42mm magazine or use AK101 /Ak201 magazines. Not impossible the round already fits the basic form of the magazine body it would need perhaps a change in curve but it’s fairly easy and frankly fairly common in commercial market for nonstandard ammo in an established weapon series. For example a number of 7.62x39mm or 5.45x39mm commercial AR15 use modified AR magazine or magazines with an AR15 magazine profile.
2) design a new magazine and well that are a bit of a hybrid. G36 and Sig 550 are examples of this. They have wells closer to STANAG but not interchangeable with it using an AK style tab.
3) a separate receiver with modified well to accommodate STANAG. The Chinese did this though arguably a bit of a cludge in the Type 97. Another version of this option is….
3.5) Design a modular lower receiver group that has a magazine well modules that could be swapped out and meet different magazine profiles. The G36 kinda has that option it’s just not used militarily. A number of commercial AR also have it again not used in wide military service.

Oh, those “weird jams” just happen all the time, in cold weather, in dust , in jungles , you name it , Chris Kyle used that forward assist, and he was on the street

Firstly, sounds like you need to clean your gun! ;)

So the forward assist fixes all of those jams 100% without any risk of making the jams worse?

The point is that it’s better practice to rack the charging handle and eject the round than to use the forward assist and risk it not working or making the jam worse. Especially in a time sensitive situation like Kyle Rittenhouse’s case, where to be frank, he was lucky the forward assist worked or else it might have been him in the morgue. It would have taking him the same time to rack the gun, with zero risk of failure. Personally, when my life may on the line, I want to leave as few things to chance as I can.
