I forgot but do we know if the DMR variant has a free-floating barrel? I remembered we talked about this last year but I can't find that comment.

It's not confirmed, but I think it is likely looking at the way the handguard joins to the receiver at the back compared to the standard QBZ-191, as well as the lack of any obvious joins at the front of the handguard and the barrel or gas block (which is present on the standard 191).

why do many Chinese scoped rifles use the soft rubber extension so eyes are right up making contact with the extension? Many aren't but surely it's better without it? No civilian and experienced scoped rifle owner considers that an advantage. Glare isn't an issue with the conventional scope. I suppose you can use it the same way.
I've never really dealt with one, I always assume they are for comfort purposes rather than reduce glare.

I'm sorry if this was mentioned before (I've already read page 1-30, so reading everything will gonna take a while o_O)

but has there been any info about the internal parts mechanism?

I mean does the QBZ 191, uses a standar AR or AK rotating bolt mechanism or does it uses something different? I know the QBZ-95 uses AK bolt design, but was there any chinese rifle aside from norinco AR that has AR15 multilug rotating bolt?
I've yet to see any picture of guns here that has been gutted out yet.

I'm quite new in the sino gun world so i'm not that familiar with them yet.

Also i'm wondering if it's just me or does anyone else thinks that the stock was way too generic looking lol?
Well not that i can complain if it's function flawlessly and durable, but the only thing that's ugly about the rifle is the stock imo. Everything else is just aestethically good and modern.
I wonder why they didn't just use an AR buffer tube or some sort of similar copy of the system. They could also make a good additional buttstock as well and make them quite customizable.

I thought it does have an ar style buffer tube? I'm almost confident that the stock can be taken off and changed just like any other ar 15.s

The closes we have to the mechanism was this picture.

The stock looks fine to me. It's adjustable, looks comfortable enough and suitable for mainline infantry.
It has a buffer tube inside, and can probably be upgraded with new stocks if they're developed for it, but that would probably only be if there's a demand for it going forwards by people like SOF or if they want to improve the DMR further, but any such demand won't be seen for years if not longer.

As far as appearances go, it looks a lot better than the standard M4 stock that it is shipped with.

Then I'm certain that, within 12 months after the QBZ-191 series officially inducted into service, aftermarket stock as well as front handguard models will become available in the market.

Can you confirm whether it uses 7 lugged bolt heads like an AR15 or not?

Because i saw someone mentioned that the QBZ-191 uses short stroke gas piston with 7 lug rotating bolt like the HK416. I know it's true that it uses short stroke operation but the rest of it i don't know. yet.

Also does anyone have the source of that image with higher quality and higher resolution?

Yeah i guess it's okay as long as it works fine and functional.

Now when i take a good look at it, judging by that image i think the upper and the lower doesn't break open and hinged by the front pivot pin like an AR, but it kind of resembles more to the HK G3, where you have to remove the stock to field strip the rifle. The buffer system probably retained to the stock as well.

What makes you think that?

The configuration of the upper and lower and the pins isn't identical to the AR, but it should open up similarly, given the positioning of the forward pin on the 191.
The positioning of the pins on 191 and receiver configuration is probably closest to QBZ03, with the AR15 style buffer tube and stock.

I.e.: the upper receiver (light blue) and lower receiver (green) have two push pins with their holes visible, one immediately in front of the magazine well and one immediately above where the buffer tube/stock joins the receiver.

I'm not sure what part of this resembles the G3 over the AR15.
