Depends very much on the LVPO.

As a general rule, LVPOs will be significantly heavier, larger and more expensive than a prison sight. The image quality may also not be as good if you sacrifice glass quality for price.

For general line infantry issue, I don’t really think the trade off is worth it. Even for DMR, I would feel a good medium magnification scope would be a superior choice as primary optic over an LVPO.

LVPOs are not useless by any means. But they are very niche in terms of what the user wants to be doing with it to justify the weight, size and price penalties over a good prism or medium magnification scope.
