Well we know this isn't true because none has been actually equipped with WS-17, not the ones sold to the UAE, not the domestic ones, not even the airshow ones. Depending on who you ask WS-17 either is in limbo or dead as of right now.

L15 is powered by FWS17, designer of which is Ms Huang. Unless you want to argue L15/JL10 in PLANAF & PLAAF services is powered by that Ukrainian small turbofan without afterburner

Uh they are?

These are both using AI-222s, you can easily tell from the fixed area nozzles. Literally takes 10 second of google to find out. Additionally there has been no proof of WS-17 ever being seen on JL-10/L-15s in the first place, as someone who is making a big claim here please back it up with a genuine source like a picture.

Edit: Off topic, could mods please move this to engine thread?

Well, do you believe PLANAF would accept a trainer without afterburner, and PLAAF would be fine with a platform powered by imported engine? common sense please.

...yes? You know J-15Ts still use imported AL-31Fs right? You also know that aside from the very few L-15Bs built all of the L-15s are effectively subsonic trainers with Al-222 right? You know up until very recently (and possibly still) Z-8/18s still used PW Canada turboshafts right?

Again, if you wish to say otherwise please present some tangible proof

edit: moved to engine thread

this is a flagship thread and related to J-35A. there is a sperate thread for Engine discussion.
Well, it's necessary to debunk the myth that in service j35 was powered by ws19 as early as 3 September,2025. This kind of speculation based on misinformation of only two engine models designed by Ms Huang should be addressed.

At this point you are the only one attempting to spread misinformation on a topic that isn't even related to the thread. If you are so sure of WS-17 on JL-10s, why is it so hard for you to provide even a crumb of proof?
