I think you are totally spot on. Plastics are probably the wave of the future. I remember reading something a few years ago about super-ceramics. Some company in Japan was designing a ceramic engine block for a car. That's some tough stuff! So maybe the tanks in the far future will be made by CorningWear?

you know ceramics and plastics are two different classes of materials, right?

anyway, I think most people associate cheap consumer products with plastics, but more broadly plastics=polymers=long, intertwined molecular strings (basically). There are some high grade plastics out there already (i.e. Kevlar is a polymer) so it is not a big stretch of the imagination to see some sort of "plastics" used for armored vehicles or even tanks.

I am not anti China, I just don't like the commies running the government there. If China was democratic then they could get along with America. How am i unthankful?

They are both from mainland. I don't know exactly where my mom is from, but my dad grew up on Hainan Island. :)

Ey Fried, you ever visited China?

I went back to China in the summer of 2004. Although I was impressed by the awesome skyscrappers, parks, highways, wide boulevards, and modern buildings, I do have to admit that I did see things that I did not want to see. I saw poor people, I saw beggars, I saw poor rural peasants. I also experienced firsthand the pollution, and how dirty everything is back in China. But in the end, despite all the negative things, I still loved what I saw. After all, it is my country. I believe with hard work and faith, China will only get better and better.
