I'm sorry. I can't resist. I try to stay away as I'm busy filling all the tax returns in for the deadline.
But whilst takong 5min out. I noticed this post!
Now while I agree and sympathised with people around the SCS about possible conflicts.
I differ in the solution you offered. You suggested the people's should get together and quoting Churchill people should "JAW JAW. not war war"
But your solution includes USA. And here lies the problem that can't be solved. The problem in the SCS is caused by one country and one country alone. And thar country is from outside the area with no stake in the area what so ever!) don't believe in the propoganda of the so called FONOPS.
in the event where some power should impede the FON. the biggest country to suffer is China as most shipping passing the SCS is coming from or to China!
The problem can be solved overnight if just one country leave the area with immediate effect!

I doubt the US being a Super Power will leave the area/region. You should know that the USN 7th Fleet last year changed its designation from "Pacific Command" to "Indo-Pacific" Command, meaning its ships will continue to traverse the seas from the Western Pacific to the Indian Ocean. China knows this, and as the other Super Power would have already made military /naval contingency plans to counter eventualities. Every nation wants Peace and should focus on Economic Prosperity. You may know/heard of the "Thucydides Trap" between two competing strong/big powerful countries - the case of ancient Athens & martial Sparta. They were involved in Peloponnesian War between 499 and 449 BC. I believe both China & US War Colleges & their Senior Military Officers know this historical war background. Similar hostilities/War could be repeated in the 21st Century. Most people of the world prefer that 2 major powers must cooperate & work towards PEACE, & hopefully not be foolish to fan the flames of hostilities that will ultimately result in disaster.

But that is not possible like the Chinese proverb says No 2 tigers can in-habit the same region. Anyway. Why is this a tanker look more like a ferry and supplied ship than tanker

The second 8000-ton tanker, dedicated to transport between Chinese islets in the South China Sea, will soon be put on hold. The construction of the 129 blocks is complete and the systems are being delivered. This is one of the two San Sha 1 sisterships.

Those are China's largest adjustable pitch screws to date.

I understand the Chinese proverb "No 2 Tigers cannot inhabit the same "forest" (region)". Perhaps they could IF both are reasonable & pragmatic tigers. In the world of globalisation for trade & investments, there would be very little choice but to cooperate with most countries for mutual benefits. We cannot (not in today's context) restrict any Big Tiger from roaming to other regions......not only to Asia but also to the EU, USA, ME etc., and join other Tigers who are amiable, friendly & not antagonistic or hypocritical. "Gong Xi Fa Cai" to all my Chinese friends in this Professional Chat Group.

Likely a mistranslation here. The original text in French should mean "will soon be laid down" rather than "will soon be put on hold".

I know and agree with you on much of what you said.
I also know of, and are aware of the theory of "thucydides trap". However it is a theory. And it's not always been born out by empirical evidence such as when the US eclipse the UK did not end in war.
the reason I replied to your earlier post was that you stated you wish for peace in the region and we should therefore all get together including the US, and quoting Churchill should "Jaw Jaw NOT War War".
I simply suggest that the reason for the lack of peace is due to outsiders interfering, by introducing spanners in the work, and thus stopped the processes of "Jaw Jaw" from happening.
I basically suggest thetefire peace through "Jaw Jaw" is only possible if this outsider leave immediately!

Now this will be handy in monitoring the area around the islet via hiseen

24 hours unattended! Another kind of advanced equipment to defend the southern island reef
2019 03/29 10:36 Global Network Military

At the 2019 Langkawi International Maritime and Aerospace Exhibition, China Electronic Technology Group (CETC) launched an unattended all-weather information network node system.

1000

Floating Integrated Information Platform (IIFP)

The "lightweight" IIFP can be deployed to all sea conditions. It uses solar energy to self-sustain and has good adaptability. It can be deployed to the appropriate sea area by tugboat and other mobiles. It can be operated remotely without the need for personnel to be on duty. The IIFP can perform various functional tasks as needed, for example, as a 4G or short-wave communication base station, a marine environmental monitoring platform, a tsunami warning facility, an auxiliary navigation service system, or continuous monitoring of maritime targets.

1000

Island Reef Based Information System (IRBIS)

(IRBIS) is a more complex, all-weather, fixed-deployment unattended system consisting of a shallow water platform and an electronic mission system that can be equipped with a variety of sensors and, of course, more powerful.

No matter which variant, military or civilian, this platform system can play an important role in the construction of Nansha, Xisha Island reef, defending the island reef, and continuously monitoring the target waters. In addition to applied to homeland security and marine scientific research, it is also an important platform for providing public service products such as disaster reduction and rescue, marine positioning and navigation.

In addition, China Electronics also showed a fish-like underwater unmanned system "FishBot-A100". Its bionic propulsion system can swim like a fish by swinging its tail and fins. In fact it has three propulsion systems: propellers, gliding and bionic fins. The propeller system includes a horizontal thruster and two vertical thrusters.

The FishBot-A100 is a new generation of high-performance unmanned aerial vehicles (UUVs) capable of performing a variety of civil and military tasks, such as environmental surveys, search and rescue or reconnaissance missions, collecting underwater data, and recording high-definition video. The captured data can be sent to a control center or other underwater platform via a 4G network, wireless Wi-Fi or voice signal. According to the mission requirements, you can carry a payload of 5 kg.

The FishBot-A100 weighs about 20 kilograms and is about 2 meters long. It can be operated at 100 meters underwater. The built-in battery can support up to 20 days of snorkeling. The performance and future application prospects are quite good.

China's southernmost 5G base station in Sansha City, Hainan Province, is now operational. The establishment of the station marks a vast 5G network coverage of China Mobile extending all the way to the country's southernmost point, as well as a solid step forward for Hainan's 5G network development.
they will be used to facilitate remote operation, driver less car. IoT, Specially in monitoring the perimeter of the island
