Minesweepers 848 "Xuanwei" (Type 081A), 811 "Rongcheng" (Type 082II), and 825 (Type 082I) in a formation:

The picture was taken from another Type 081A ship (845, 846, 847, or 849), as it is also equipped with a H/PJ-14 30mm cannon.

It was dropping a minesweeping gear (probably for magnetic mines):

825 used to be attached to the Southern Fleet, but it is now under the PLA Northern Theater Command. Though it was on news before, its name was not disclosed.

Any new minesweepers planned? All countries surrounding China are investing heavily on naval mines so you'd think minesweepers would be given a lot more priority but it seems there is only handfull of these ships in service.

The Chibi and Kaiping Minesweepers of Southern Theater Command of the People's Liberation Army (PLA) Navy formed a minesweeper formation and carried out multi-module and all-elements maritime combat training in an area of the South China Sea to improve the ability to cooperate and in emergency disposal.
