White shorts with high black socks? Jeez they look like what my dad would dress like on vacation if he get to choose his clothing instead of my mom.

I just posted what I had.

As I look at the ones you posted, it appears to me that there is only one that is of the same action on this thread, that of the basketball players, with the pic you posted being a wider angle.

I am keeping a rather large Flickr RIMPAC 2014 album (now 120 photos and growing) of everything about RIMPAC 2014. , Some of those photos are taken from the US Navy Site, some from the Australian Navy site, and others from various internet postings, which I then take and make all the same size in terms of resolution (1200 x 900). All of which is explained in my Photo Album description.

Nothing untoward or nefarious in any of that.

it seemed a little odd the Chinese Fleet's CO is only a Senior Colonel while other major players has sent at least 1 general grade officer. Although Senior Colonel is an equivalent of a 1star Brig General in U.S. i still expected someone a little higher up the food chain.

You can bet your bottom dollar Aussies will be sending a Canberra Class LHD and AEGIS DDG since they are commissioned

Senior Colonel is roughly a Commodore or in the USN Rear Admiral Lower Half.. Given the number of PLAN ships that's about what there should be.
Different militaries place there emphasis at different levels. And use different terminology. Remember Omar Gaddafi was a Colonel, even when he became Libya's dictator he was still addressed as Col. Despite the fact he was commander and Chief of his nation.
Rank only goes so far Bullitt is the final judge. That's posting and title and with that can come flagging (authorized wearing of another rank to suit the post)

Rear Admiral (LH) leading a four-ship squadron doesn't seem low. Or, maybe a higher ranked PLAN officer attended RIMPAC and wasn't in that picture.
