Ex-Varyag will need to train with a replenishment ship in one or two years time but that will not yet need to be one that is large enough for operational use. So that larger ship might well appear about 2015. And building her will take about a year.

how is the replenishment fleet looking? I know of only 2 Qiandaohu class which are fairly modern, with the ever expanding surface fleet i guess PLAN will need some serious re-supply ships at sea and many of them

You did not get your answer to how the PLAN replenishment fleet is looking. There are currentlyjust five ships of three different types in service, the FUCHI class to which you are referring, the FUQING class (Type 905) to which the Pakistani NASR A 47 belongs, and the single ex-Soviet FUSU class (Pr. 1696/Type 908) which is of course the best and served as a model for the FUCHI class. By fleet, they are:

South Sea Fleet
FUSU class 885 QINGHAIHU ex VLADIMIR PEREGUDOV 1996
FUCHI class 887 WEISHANHU 2004

East Sea Fleet
FUQING clas 882 POYANGHU ex FENGCANG 1979
FUCHI class 886 QIANDAOHU 2004

North Sea Fleet
FUQING clas 881 HONGZEHU ex TAICANG 1979

The two PLAN transports DAYUN class (Type 904) 883 DONGTINGHU and DANYAO class (Type 904A) 888 FUXIANHU ostensible operate as Fisheries Inspection ships ZHONGGUO YUZHENG 21 AND 88, repectively.

But this is mere camouflage, they are still PLAN ships, like the DAYUN class 884 JINGPOHU, operating to supply PLA garrisons on the Paracel (Xisha) and Spratley (Nansha) Islands.

The ship that has been converted into a hospital ship is QIONGSHA class (Nan Yun) 833, now Nan Yi 09, which is based at Guangzhou.

For the same of ultra-completeness, it may be added that PLAN had a third unit of the FUQING class, the HONGCANG, which was turned over to civilian use as the HAICANG. It is probably still controlled by the PLA, though, since it often seen at Lushun Naval Base, looking not at all as well-maintained as a PLAN ship.

Pre-2003 numbers of PLAN replenishment and supply ships were:

I know it's probably not the case here but it looks like a really bad and chaep knockoff of the General Dynamics LCS LOL
