They will test these new ships for a couple of years, then after gaining the experience they will use a couple of years for designing the next version. Then they will start the construction.
True..............but the Destroyers are well and truly tested. What i'am curious to see is if any more 052D's are built. It wasn't clear in the latest 5 year plan, what number of hulls, if any will be built?............then there is the mysterious 054B Frigate, which is so stealthy, no one has apparently seen it........:)

Well a few years ago I was saying China could build two destroyers per year for 30 years, ending up with a 60 destroyer fleet with AESA radars. but I got scoffed as chest pumping. Look at where we are now. Give another two years it'll be close to 40 052C+052D+055, total destroyer number around 50. Surely in the next 20 years those old ones will be replaced plus some new ones joining, which makes 60 a number easy to reach.

Btw can someone explain why Xi was wearing just a simple a shirt during a ceremony. I dont know why but everytime I see him in this video it triggers me.

Shouldnt he have a uniform or a suit or something else more "official looking". Like the guy is the chairman of the CMC, he should be wearing a uniform or something else.

IMO he looks unprofessional

The geopolitical landscape has changed. Back then there were no overt push to another Cold War unlike today.

There could be a number of reasons: downplay the whole event for geopolitical reasons, purposefully disrespect the military due to internal politics or someone forgot to bring an appropriate attire for the event (someone here mentioned his shirt was a bit too tight).

That's his uniform. Similar to what the general next to him is wearing but without any decorations.

It was a military style green dress shirt, it looks perfectly fine for me.

As civilian government leadership and being non military there is nothing to prove..

I dispute your comments of President Xi's attire as unprfessional. You don't have to dress up to be recoginsed as the president of China as everyone knows who President Xi is. A simple shirt represents he is just one of us, not one above us. Got it!
