What is highly unusual is that the official news report (CCTV) never mentioned a word about what types of the ships that were commissioned. All they mentioned are the pennant numbers and the names of the ships: Long March 18, PLANS 31 Hainan, PLANS 105 Dalian. It's pretty clear from the video what types of ships they are though. Type 055 and even Type 075 are nothing new and have all had their highly public launch ceremonies; there had never been any public launch or commission ceremony for Type 094 though.

This is just insane! 
China commissioned 1 Type 075, 1 Type 094, 1 Type 055 and 1 Type 052D on 23 april on the same day. And on 12 april less than 2 weeks earlier the PLAN commissioned another Type 052D. That's 4 major surface combatants and 1 nuclear submarine in less than 2 weeks.

It appears that another 075, one more 055, 4 more 052Ds will be commissioned this year, bringing the total to 2 x 075, 3 x 055, 8 x 052D for the year. It'll be a crazy pace.
Wow these are big numbers and increase in capabilities.
Would be interesting to see in which fleet they will go...

True..............but the question to ask now.........is and when are new hulls going to start construction.......this year............or 2-3 years time?
don't mind me, just dreaming the new type 055A and frigates... And what about these UUVs, and these new submarines on the new massive sub construction base. And what about that type 076 drone carrier with its EMALS

I guess Chinese dumplings are cooked in water and many are cooked at the same time. Meaning China launches many warships at the one time. Hence they coin the phrase 'dumplings'.
They will test these new ships for a couple of years, then after gaining the experience they will use a couple of years for designing the next version. Then they will start the construction.
