The Joint Chiefs of Staff of the Ministry of National Defense of Japan announced on the 10th that about 120 carrier-based fighter jets and helicopters took off and landed from the Chinese Navy's "Shandong" aircraft carrier within three days, including 80 carrier-based aircraft and 40 helicopters.
so Taiwanese detection rate of carrier based aircraft is 1/30 - 4 claimed detections, 120 sorties.
Based on my reading:
JMSDF announces on 4/7-9 of 5 Reiwa (2023), Chinese navy Shandong carrier (naval number 17) and multiple naval vessels, were found cruising at the following places in the Pacific, with the following confirmed vessels.
4/7, 8 PM: Miyako-jima, south, 390 km. Shandong carrier (17), Luyang 3 052D (163), Jiangwei 2 054A (573), AOR (905)
4/8, 8 PM: Miyako-jima, south, 430 km. Shandong carrier (17), Luyang 3 052D (163), Jiangwei 2 054A (536, 573), AOR (905)
4/9, 8 PM: Miyako-jima, south, 230 km. Shandong carrier (17), Luyang 3 052D (163), Jiangwei 2 054A (536, 573), AOR (905)
Within this time, Chinese navy's Shandong carrier's air wing had 80 sorties with carrier based planes and 40 sorties with ???, totaling 120 sorties confirmed.
MSDF squadron 13 at Sasebo and squadron 4 at Kure gathered information, warned and tracked the ships. ASDF conducted emergency intercepts of the air wing.

Well, probably a bit better 1/20 ... 80 carrier based planes (J-15) and 4 claimed
Helicopters.
At that point it'd be less embarrassing if they just said they forgot to turn on their radars.
That’s as far as you can push a ski jump type aircraft carrier.
