What really gives the PLA a headache is not the US selling “big guns” to Taiwan, but selling large quantities of Stinger and Javelin, which mean endless street fighting and blood bath.
But this is also unacceptable to the Taiwanese people, as it means abandoning the idea of winning the war on the beachhead and minimizing casualties (even though we all know that this is no longer realistic).

It would re-merge with Fujian. Taiwan was part of Fujian for a long time.
Taiwan county, Fujian sure has a nice ring to it.
More realistic it would be Taiwan island.
It would have to be Taiwan Autonomous Region to stand any chance of a deal being made.

Don't like that. That's just kicking the problem down the road because the ramp-down provides a long time for the US to turn it into a cesspool and we'll eventually have to deal with it like we just did with Hong Kong. Go all in, make 'em red. I prefer this, even with violence if needed, to giving them any autonomy.
