Look at the choice of dress by the OpFor, the intent is beyond obvious...
I think the one in front is PLA winter fatigue

A group photo of an Army Special Operations squad. This squad has placed first in a special operations competition organized by the Army, outperforming more than 10 other squads from all over the country. Sharing the image here because it shows the equipment of a special ops squad. Also note the camouflage tapes on their small arms.

Hm. Based on that picture, aside from the kneepad on the soldier on the left and the earpiece the bottom right soldier is wearing, their equipment hasn’t changed much at all. However it is a competition, so they won’t be rocking the newly issued equipment if they were issued any.

As for the camo tapes, I wonder if they have considered painting their rifles. From an aesthetic perspective, it looks better. Functionality wise, when a taped rifle goes through water and mud, some of those liquids can enter the crevices between the tapes. A painted rifle won’t have that issue.

As for the squad loadout, it looks like they are carrying two disposable rocket launchers, an anti material rifle, a sniper rifle, a grenade launcher, 4 rifles with scopes (but it is one of those scopes used in force on force exercises), and carbines and rifles with iron sights. Based on that, this is a relatively well rounded squad configuration designed to bring a balanced amount of firepower, versatility, and mobility to the table.

Just wondering, has there been any Chinese prototypes of electrically fired guns?
In the past the logistics of making troops carry batteries and ammo made it a non-starter, but as energy density increases, and the fact that there are so many "digitial soldier" type programs, batteries are becoming a necessity.
By dispensing with gas system and simplified trigger, you could save a decent amount of weight.

Late response but yes.
