Does anyone have any information on the new US 6.8mm cartridge?

Task and purpose have some videos about it on YouTube.

The 6.8 competitors are high pressure metal case, traditional case in polymer and telescoped polymer. Some say that polymer may save 30% weight of the round.

Looking it up, the .277 SiG Fury round is 3.6kj. Level 4 NIJ body armor is rated against 3.5kj 7.62 ammo.

The military version could have higher pressures, but the obvious problem is the same difference between a battle rifle and an assault rifle; battle rifles have huge recoil and are uncontrollable on full auto.

Probably more advanced recoil dampening will be used on the US's new rifles to compensate vs the circa 1950s M14s.

The groupings these guys are expected to shoot at 4:00 is actually pretty insane, never seen anything like that out of a handgun even if its only 5m

They were training for muscle memory. I think this type of training is only relevant for special forces or anti-terrorist units since a lot of the fighting they do is close up and scenarios can change within a matter of seconds. Standard infantry should stick to basic marksmanship.

About the same timeframe the PAP start to eat up ammo like such, the deficiencies in their issued firearms began to surface, be it quality control or design aspects.
