I think the image is specifically referring to the last part of the sentence, "3D all directional protection" as in specially molded ERA blocks? Looks like an ERA test to me rather than active jamming/APS.
I was also thinking it looks like ERA blocks but the users say they mentions APS/Jamming specifically so who knows?

I guess it boils down to how the sentence is interpreted, it can either be:
  • First time breakthrough in active jamming, active protection leads to leap in all directional protection capabilities.
  • First time breakthrough in active jamming, active protection, 3D all direction protection to achieve leap in capabilities.
May just be my rusty Chinese showing through tho. Anyways no need to read too much into it since it seems image is pretty obvious as an ERA test.

So active ERA? That genuinely sounds interesting

I'm not sure if other members recall this but this was mentioned many, many years ago.

Back then (I guess 2015 +/-3 years) someone shared Chinese sources talking about electromagnetic field triggered reactive armour that predetonates. The speculation then was that detonating the "active" explosive armour or rather EAA instead of ERA, would blunt the incoming projectile. Assumed to be more effective against missiles and multi warhead/shaped charges by triggering secondary detonations and/or retarding the flight of the incoming projectile.

It was talked about for a few posts and then sort of forgotten.

From the video it looks like the ERA sets of before impact of the projectile. Perhaps it could have cheap proximity radar for individual ERA blocks?
