According to a release from Japan's Ministry of Defense on May 1, two Chinese naval vessels – the Sovremenny-class destroyer Hangzhou and the Type 054A frigate Xuzhou – navigated through the Miyako Strait into the Western Pacific for maritime operations.

First Sanya for the SSF, now Qingdao for the NSF. The PLAN is going all-in on a ginormous expansion.

If only Taiwan has been reunited (and the coastlines of Fujian become safe), the ESF would've had their massive naval base at Ningde instead of having to stay around Ningbo and Shanghai. The natural harbors there are absolutely perfect for hosting a naval base that would rival Pearl.

Continued.

Qingdao Naval Base: 3x new 40-meter wide piers and 1x new 100-meter wide pier under construction.

Yulin Naval Base: 5x new 40-meter wide piers under construction.

Note that the 40-meter wide piers are meant for FFLs and DDGs, whereas the 100-meter wide pier is meant for CVs and AOE/AORs.

More amphibious bridge barges under construction. Via foolsball

Just recently we saw a landing system consisting of a group of three amphibious bridges being tested near Zhanjiang. Recent photo show a new group of 3 bridges nearing completion.

Note that the photos are not very recent and the second batch of amphibious bridges are said to have been launched.
