Plus poor trigger discipline, as also shown by the standing helmet-less guy on the far left.

Yep, that was shockingly poor trigger discipline. This kind of mental laziness, slapdash attitude, and lack of attention to detail make me wonder if he had even bothered to clear the chamber. If not, he came dangerously close to killing his comrade who was kneeling to his left. Also note that almost none of them wore their vests properly. This really hurts my eyes. How in the world could their training be so poor? This is almost 1980s Taliban level stuff.

Damn the PLA and China for being a peace-loving country. Maybe if they invaded everyone and got constant hard experience with getting shot at, then none of these issues would persist.

But since that's clearly not the case, ragging on a bunch of greens for every single fuck up isn't going to improve their training. Especially points that have been called out for the last couple of hundred pages. At this point, might as well just close this thread since it's constant complaining over the same shit again and again every few pages rather than showing new stuff.

Training and gear are improving, but malpractice within 3 million troops doesn't magically disappear overnight ot even within a few years. Especially when you're transitioning everyone into a more disciplined force.

That guy in the lower right put the optic on backwards. New fancy gears mean nothing if the training remains so poor. They still have a very long way to go.

What's even worse is that he's looking through it, so not only is he demonstrating poor training he's also demonstrating stupidity. One ought to notice things like looking through a backwards scope.

Maybe in the Xinjiang and Yunnan PAP it would be different because they have combat experinces fighting against criminals in near myanmar border and uyghur jihadist. What about Spec ops because they're reports that they deployed to Syria to fight uyghur jihadist.

But then again PLA instructors and advisors did play a big role in Rwandan Army success and Sri Lanka's victory over Tamil Tigers so PLA cared more about tactics than discipline at the time.

This has nothing to do with combat and everything to do with training. You think Arab insurgents or Mexican sicarios who get in firefights every day would naturally have good trigger discipline & armour wear habits as a result?

These are all PFCs not new recruits and the stuff like scope on backwards is hard for me to wrap my head around. Has he been using it like that this whole time with nobody to point it out?

You can say they underinvest in the ground force but these sorts of things would not cost any extra to amend. I certainly hope training deficiencies of this sort aren't present with enlisted in the other branches where the consequences wouldn't be as visibly obvious to a lay observer as this.

It's not about costing extra. It's about time. From what I've seen, they are trying and putting in the efforts, but it will still take years, pushing into the next decade to have all this fixed from every level of top to bottom.

If you know they are working on the issue, then what's the point of the continued criticism here? They know it, their people know it, and we have known this for years. We also know they are improving. Calling those mistakes out now isn't conducive to anyone unless you simply want to talk shit.

I'm even willing to bet that after this photo popped up, the guys with poor trigger discipline and backward scopes got a lot of slack and a small punishment.
