All these stuff going on with Iran and Saudi Arabia has got me thinking. Does Russia or China has anything to deal with swarms of drones and cruise missiles?

battle tested and successful ... thats what the US always say how good their weapon is

If you think about it. SA with defense budget bigger than any countries apart from the US and China (YES, bigger than Russia, India, France, UK, Japan, SK, etc) .. can be attacked by simply a drone? how incompetent!

Best weapons I can think of is the Tor-M1 for the Russians and its Chinese equivalent, the HQ-17. For MALE and HALE type drones, maybe Buk missiles for the Russians and its Chinese equivalent, the HQ-16.

I always knew the SA military in general was just a paper tiger. But their air defense systems are practically a mini-US air defense site. But seeing how they had a large Patriot SAM system near those oil fields and still couldn't do anything has me thinking.

I don't think the Patriot was made to handle low level, subsonic cruise missiles and drones. This whole episode has got me thinking on what Russia and China has to deal with SWARMS of drones and cruise missiles.

I know US doesn't have anything for short ranges except stingers which are extremely short ranges and practically useless.

Once again. Its like a tank with a VLS. Highly mobile, deployable anywhere, fast reaction time, and meant to take down low altitude targets.

It's like the Russian Tor but with AESA radar instead of PESA. Much better improvement.

Hard to say but I think both current Tor M1, M2 and HQ-17s are all PESAs when it comes to their fire control radars. This isn't referring to the rotating search radar.

What has it taken down in real world? Russians claim their tech can shoot down anything but Israel has proven otherwise. Pantsir has problems telling difference between birds and drones, etc.

Real world seems to be telling different story than marketing people and fanboys.
