50 AWACS/AEW? do they really need that many?

Actually I don't think there are already 50 since it seems to be a strange habit to leave ot certain numbers and sometimes to start a new sequence for a new dadui.

oh, I'm not saying 50 in service, I said roughly 50 land-based AWACs have been built, including those 12 in the factory

plus I only count 10 as the total number of kJ-200 and kj-2000, which is much less than the total serial number confirmed on the hunting’s blog (although I can’t tell how many of those serial number is still valid, thus give and take)

So it’s pretty safe to say the total number of awacs aircraft that have been built is around 50 if not more

More daily patrols. The operational tempo is pretty impressive. Images are again courtesy of the Taiwanese air force.

How do they tell the difference between the Y8s?

To look at the certain different antenna and array configurations... and repeat and repeat and repeat and repeat and repeat and repeat and repeat and repeat and repeat and repeat and repeat and repeat ...

@huitong is always a huge help!
