So just recently, there was a shooting incident in the country's financial district involving three police officers while inside their headquarters.

As it turns out, one of the police officers is a Muslim and was served pork stew for lunch, when the officer got offended, he shot dead one of his colleagues and attempted to kill another police officer. The suspect was shot back after a brief gunfight. Unfortunately, the suspect survived and is currently receiving treatment for his injuries.

Please excuse the video as there is no available translation in English

I believe this incident is an excellent example of how incompetent are the Philippines police and military forces. :rolleyes:

To be fair bro, those reclamation will further exacerbate the already worsening flood problem in the city. Where will the excess water flow if you block it. Duterte withhold those permit (withheld the approval of DENR ECC, ENVIRONMENTAL COMPLIANCE CERTIFICATE) knowing the ecological problem BUT the local authorities approved it anyway (local gov't code) as a mean to increase their tax base. Manila need land to expand because they have many public real estate under heritage protection.

I'm against reclamation, it will ruin one of Manila main attraction the sunset boulevard overlooking the bay which is one of our most iconic scenery, the former mayor of manila Isko Moreno is corrupt to the core, selling public land to benefit himself, we called him BOY BENTA, boy seller...lol he is set for life having received huge money from the American and the oligarchy elite who funded his political campaign and also from selling of public land.
Would water not just flow around the new reclaimed land?

The Chinese Filipino taipans are just minding their own business and a lot of them don't wish to get involved in this dispute in the SCS.. Suddenly this clueless senator is trying hard to bait them against the Chinese state.
He wanted to be President and he is up for Senate reelection in 2025, remember this guy is a Traditional Politician (Trapo) this is his way of extorting money from the Taipans and the American (In fact there are rumors that the US is grooming him to be the next President) he will do everything even nefarious means to get elected.

The Philippines likes to make a lot of noise about how it will defend every inch of its disputed territory against a superpower like China, but back at home its soldiers are still getting ambushed and killed by militants. Filipinos need to realize that if their much glorified uncle sam can't help them defeat these militants at home, what sort of help will they expect when facing a powerhouse like China? Such delusion needs to stop.

thru the centuries before the Spaniard came the Chinese had established an outpost in Lingayen Gulf and in the Ilocos Region

@ansy1968
this is from your post from another thread, I was wondering if there is a change for Taipans and ethnic Chinese in the PH to consolidate their presence in a particular area in the Philippines, most preferably in the main island of Luzon. I think if the Chinese Filipinos can secure a sizeable area for themselves, they can have a bigger influence and sway in politics in the country. Binondo would have been a good site to springboard the creation of a Taipan class identity, but its area is too small. I'd like to hear your opinion about this.

There are sizable Chinese community in all municipalities that covers Metro Manila. It may seems as overwhelming numbers BUT this was the recorded residence not including the Slum dwellers which comprised 60%. It is the same in Davao, Cebu City and other major cities. So in essence like I say before when there is a profit to be made you expect the Chinese to operate a business and settled there. The only highly concentrated area were most Chinese congregate is Manila especially in Binondo. The problem like all overseas Chinese we're apolitical and those who entered are there to enriched themselves and there family. Look at the Gatchalian Family, when they first entered politics their intention were pure and want the help develop Valenzuela as a place of investment and development, now the whole family are heavily involved, from Barangay Captain to councilor, mayor, congressman and Senator, they are there to protect their family business. So we Hua Qiao yield a lot of political power but they were coopted by the system because there are easy money to be made.

It has bro, those noises were coming from the same individual and institution. They were paid to do that and was given a platform by the oligarchy elites. Currently we are experiencing high inflation which affected our cost of living and quality of life so to diverted our attention we need a bogey man, its a SOP whenever we encounter economic difficulties.

And also Inquirer, Star and other publication except for Manila times are controlled by the oligarch, they are there to propagandized, even if they all suffered heavy losses the oligarch still pour money into it to hide their shady deals especially onerous gov't contract.
