Nice, out of the 8, 4 were to come/made in china the rest were to be made in karachi, so i guess that should be happening next

The keels of the 5th and 6th submarines were laid in 2022 and 2023 respectively. Speculative reports suggest that the 5th submarine (PNS Tasnim) is at a very advanced stage of construction, and we may see her launched in 2026.

Pakistan Navy Launches Jinnah-Class Multirole Frigate Program

1766007069903.png

The Pakistan Navy has entered into a significant agreement with Karachi Shipyard & Engineering Works Ltd (KS&EW) to commence construction of the new Jinnah-class multirole frigate.

Developed on the basis of Türkiye’s ASFAT AS3600 design with complete transfer of technology, the Jinnah class marks a new milestone in the strong naval partnership between Pakistan and Türkiye following the Babur-class program.

Displacing over 3,300 tons, these frigates will be equipped to operate effectively across surface, air, and subsurface domains, featuring anti-ship and anti-air missile systems, heavyweight torpedoes, and long-range strike capabilities.

Steel cutting is expected to begin shortly, with a total of 6 -8 vessels planned.

The first sub (Hangor) is in the final stage of acceptance trials and will join the fleet in Q1 2026. The rest will follow at 6–8 month intervals.

instead of the originally planned German MTU engines, as Germany blocked the export due to an arms embargo, making Pakistan the first export customer for these untested Chinese engines.

I hope to see a better search radar though. There are more modern alternatives on the market than the Smart-S Mk II.
Or even go with a fixed plate antenna configuration.

This image is a few years old and is shared for reference only.

Since the program was officially announced a few years ago, several amendments have been made, including an increase in the number of ships from 6 to 8, higher tonnage, an increase in VLS cells from 1×16 to 2×16, and updates to weapon systems, sensors, and other systems.

They will likely use Turkish CENK 400-N

It appears so, but fingers crossed, as several unverified reports are circulating.

Do you perhaps have a source?
