Osama Bin Laden has been killed

Errr.... He wasn't found inside unadministered tribal areas of Pakistan, but only 51km from Islamabad.

Ghosh .... Osama had the COURAGE to hide just 51 kms from the Govt of Pakistan.

Anyway good that the damn bastard is finally dead. I rate him atleast at par with Hitler, if not worse.

There are many smaller-Osama's yet to kill, though.

at least he's not like that "unknown next door neighbor" of the pakistani president. that'd b ironic

Well i just watched on CNN that he was found in Amottabad? only 30km from Islamabad in a purpose built mansion thats 6 times bigger then the other compounds around it. I find it hard to believe that he could have been hiding there for 6 years without the government knowing, apparently the US found out he was hiding there because he used couriers to get info out and once they knew who the couriers were they watched them until there were sure he was in that building. It's certainly a good day for America that he is gone, I am just waiting for the pictures of his body to come out.

I agreed. Not just a good day for US, but for the world. I was thrilled and almost clapped when I watched the breaking news in HK. Bastard finally dead. Can't be happier. He's the Hitler of the new century. Wherever evil lurks, the disappearance of it is not just the good new for one party, but for all who are in the side of the light.

My dad was joking about how funny it would be if Bin Laden shows up the next day claiming he's not dead yet. That'd totally scare people sh*tless as it'll be such an anticlimax. Anyways good job to Obama for killing his brother spelt with a "s".

I believe the efforts will definitely bring the world to be safer, and can have some influence in extending Obama's next election.

Do you guys really think the USA will be safer after his death ?

Younger guys with fresh idea of extremist Muslim would be more dangerous than Osama as the Americans wouldn't know, so many of them and some of them may take revenge of his death. The problem dealing with those "brainless" extremists is they don't think the same way we do and they have got nothing to lose

There will always be some nuts .... and you can't do anything about it.

The good thing is that stand alone nuts can't do much damage.

It is the organized terrorist organizations which must be smashed ..... the financing, the brains & strategists, facilitators who shelter the actual perpetrators ..... these have to be smashed.

The people who flew the hijacked planes on 9/11 has very little role .... the big thing was financing their pilot training, organizing their stay and sheltering them within USA, keeping all this secret, recruitments and the entire infrastructure to support all this .... in short word: Al Qaeda. And this is a major blow to Al Qaeda.

This is not finished completely .... that is true, though. Al Zawahiri and Ilyas Kashmiri are still at large.

Those are the ones who also need to be eliminated.

This is good news that Osama will no longer be able to spout his hate filled rhetoric even though Al Qaeda had long ago been smashed into a number of affiliates/franchises and in truth the real brains in Al Qaeda has always been Ayman Al-Zawahari. Like all terroists Bin Laden was basically a coward who incited impressionable idiots to kill innocents. He never showed any mercy so why should he have been given that?

This will of course not be the end of Al Qaeda or even of terrorism but it is a huge psychological victory and will make other terrorist leaders look over their shoulders even more.

And so one of the greatest Pantomimes in human history comes to a close and the Bogey man is killed.

Looks like Obama is more serious about bringing home US troops from Afghanistan than most of us dared to believe.

OK you still need to watch this space!

Seems like he's already buried at sea... and still no pictures of his body have come out... To be sure, I want to see pictures of his corpse to verify he's dead!

The italian newspapers state that the new Obama appointment at the Defence indicate the will to reduce the defence spending and the wars.

Maybe the killing of Osama, possible only with the help of the often criticized Pak intelligence, is a part of a strategy to go out from Afghanistan as soon as possible, find a compromise with talibans and pursue the fight against terrorism with intelligence instead of wars. This could be a very good outcome. The only problem now is the inevitable reaction of Al Qaeda with more terrorist attack coming.

PS Oops i did not read the other posts, it seems that other members of this forum share my same view

with all due respect, OSB is not the new hitler.

And since when has targeted state killing of a human being cause for joy?
