We make fun of India a lot, but they are indeed rising. I'm surprised to see Spain above Japan.
Spain did very poorly on AI paper representation, so I would assume a lot of these papers are in fields like biology etc.

Italy as usual outperforming expectations.

Ouch fell behind South Korea yet again.

I think Japanese can eventually accept being far behind China, but it will definitely raise their collective blood pressure being behind South Korea.

If previously China was setting up the engine, transmission, wheels, electrical systems, now it is getting ready for a test drive. After the test drive is complete and verify that its engineering works, the most terrifying thing will happen for the West, mass usage of AI everywhere in China.

Honestly, I would be scared af if I was the West (or India..) now

so damn true. i have told many times. real game just begun. we have much to celebrate in coming years.
