Just observe the facts. After the sanctions and tariff game started, the whole western ecosystem is in turmoil, western economies are stagnating, while China's economic expansion is solid like a rock. These measures are like tickling a giant's foot. The only way to reverse this is a nuclear war but there will be no winner at all. No need to worry man. I, as a european, worry about the day by day worsening of everyday life after this shit went off. But thats life. I'm happy that a major power is going strong paving the way for humanity. We, the sane thinking westerners have to find ways to get rid this rotten circus who is in charge. Wish us good luck with it

Raycus also supplies laser components for the military and its products are confirmed to be used by LW-30/60.

The 2-MW Thorium Molten Salt Reactor (TMSR) in northwest China's Gansu Province has successfully achieved the first-ever thorium to uranium nuclear fuel conversion and obtained valid experimental data following thorium fuel loading, making it currently the only operational molten-salt reactor in the world loaded with thorium fuel.
This realization marks a milestone in TMSR development and confirms the technical feasibility of thorium utilization in a molten-salt reactor nuclear energy system.
The project's ultimate goal is to construct a 100-MW demonstration project and realize its demonstration application by 2035.

The rise of Chinese auto industry will have a huge impact on pretty much whole of Chinese supply chain. Until now, never seen Gowin being used, but BYD uses a Gowin FPGA! A big deal. The microcontroller is still TI though.

If you watch it, a lot of other components are inhouse designed from BYD or from other Chinese vendors. Obviously, materials and chemicals haven't been mentioned, but would expect similar there as well.

Overall, still scope for domestic substitution.

Thoughts:

1. The whole manufacturing line is Chinese, including automation equipment from Estun, Efort etc. Even signage sometimes has Chinese more prominently written than English
2. Even in India with labor surplus, when manufacturing lines are setup, capitalists for various reasons chose automation.

I have now put together an episode of my podcast on China's recent moves and why the tech breakthroughs of the past couple of years are so critical to geopolitical power.

A good breakdown of China's domestic PLC market. The largest oversea players are Siemens and Rockwell. The biggest domestic ones are Inovance, Xinje, HollySys Automation Technologies, Supcon, Runpower and CEC according to this piece. I think CEC does most of the defense stuff.


Another big one missed in this list is Baosight. who is involved in semiconductor, energy, transportation, metallurgy and ports.
