Yet another salt and alkali resistant rice species passed acceptance test in China. Average crop yield reaches 500kg per mu (667 sq meters). Soil in the 100 mu test paddies has the average pH vale of 9.2 and salt solubility of 0.8%, a quite high salt stress for crops.

12月13日,国家耐盐碱水稻技术创新中心(简称“国创中心”)组织相关专家,对华南农业大学、广东兆华种业有限公司联合开发的丝苗米水稻品种“华航香银针”(粤审稻20220081)在汕头市潮阳区盐碱地百亩示范片进行现场测产。本次测产验收旨在全面、精准地评估华航香银针在盐碱稻区的实际表现,为其后续推广应用提供坚实依据。汕头市农业农村局、广东海洋大学滨海农业学院、国创中心、广东兆华种业有限公司等相关单位负责人及研究人员参加测产验收会。

测产验收专家组由广东省农业农村厅陈坤朝研究员、华南农业大学陈志强教授、广东海洋大学郑殿峰教授、仲恺农业工程学院谢振文教授、汕头市农科所高级农艺师廖学群5位专家组成。专家组按照国家水稻品种实收测产要求,在对百亩示范方进行整体考察的基础上,随机抽取高、中、低产3块田,根据3块田的实收测产结果,100亩示范方折合标准干谷产量为平均亩产501.98公斤。与此同时,专家组对示范种植田块进行了pH值检测及含盐量测定。经过多轮多点采样,最终得出种植田块 pH平均值为9.2,平均含盐量为0.8%,具有较高的盐碱胁迫度。

USTC revealed their latest progress in quantum computing. Jiuzhang v4, the fourth generation of the Jiuzhang optical quantum computer and currently being tested, will have more than 2000 qubits once completed. On the side of superconducting quantum computer, Zuchongzhi v3, with 105 qubits, has set a new benchmark in quantum computational advantage that is 6 order of magnitude faster than the last record set by Goolge's Sycamore in Oct this year.

2020年,中国科大研究团队设计和构建了76个光子的量子计算原型机“九章”,这是国际上首个被严格证明具有“量子计算优越性”的工作。2021年,113个光子的量子计算原型机“九章二号”诞生,处理速度比超级计算机快100亿倍。2023年,255个光子的量子计算原型机“九章三号”面世,处理速度比超级计算机快亿亿倍。

“正在测试中的‘九章四号’已超过2000个光子,计算能力将更强。”潘建伟透露。

此外,中国科大研究团队先后构建了62个比特的“祖冲之号”超导量子计算原型机、66个比特的“祖冲之二号”超导量子计算原型机,使我国成为目前唯一在两种物理体系上都实现了“量子计算优越性”的国家。

12月17日,潘建伟团队构建的“祖冲之三号”超导量子计算处理器公布在arxiv上。“祖冲之三号”处理随机线性采样的速度可超过目前最快的超级计算机“前沿”1000万亿倍,超过谷歌今年10月发表于《自然》的最新进展——72比特“悬铃木”处理器6个数量级,为目前公开发表的超导量子计算最强优越性。

2024年12月17日,中国科研团队在量子计算领域取得重大进展,中国科技大学潘建伟、朱晓波团队在预印本平台arXiv上传论文,发布了我国自主研发的具有105个量子比特的超导量子计算机“祖冲之三号”。

这篇论文的标题为《使用105量子比特“祖冲之三号”处理器建立量子计算优势的新基准测试》(Establishing a New Benchmark in Quantum Computational Advantage with 105-qubit Zuchongzhi 3.0 Processor),朱晓波、潘建伟为论文通讯作者。中国科学技术大学、合肥微尺度物质科学国家研究中心、中国科学院量子信息与量子科技创新研究院上海科学研究中心等共9家科研机构的共154名科研人员参与了本次研究。
研究团队在该处理器上进行随机量子电路采样实验,采用了 83 个量子比特、32次循环的随机线路采样实验,该任务规模比谷歌之前所实现随机电路采样规模更大。祖冲之三号仅用几百秒就采集到了上百万个样本,而同样的任务在当今最先进的超级计算机Frontier上则需要6.4X10^9年。

论文中给出了两种不同的场景来进行计算成本估计。一种场景是以Frontier超级计算机实际的内存量 9.2 PB(1PB = 1024TB,是衡量计算机存储容量的单位)为基础进行考虑。另一种场景则是把Frontier的实际内存和它所有的存储容量加起来,得到762.2PB来进行估算,不过后者在实际中并不现实,因为通常很难将所有存储都完全当作内存来使用,会受到计算机架构、数据管理等诸多因素限制。无论在哪种情况中,祖冲之三号都展现出了远超传统超算的实力。
该研究进一步凸显了量子计算机在处理特定复杂任务时的高效性和独特优势,目前中国科学技术大学超导量子团队正在基于“祖冲之三号”处理器开展相关工作,计划在数月内实现码距为7的表面码逻辑比特,并进一步将码距扩展到9和11,为实现大规模量子比特的集成和操纵铺平道路。

TCL captured 23% of the 80-inch-and-above TV market in Q3 2024, maintaining its lead over Samsung for two consecutive quarters. Samsung’s market share in this segment dropped from 26% in Q3 2023 to 19% in Q3 2024, while Hisense has narrowed the gap with Samsung to just 1.65 percentage points.

Chinese TVs are no longer perceived as cheap, low-quality options. With advanced features such as AI-powered processors and ultra-large screens, Chinese brands now rival South Korean models in performance.

Korean firms are under pressure to pivot from hardware-centric approaches to software-driven innovations, such as operating systems and platform businesses. However, experts warn that Chinese companies are also rapidly advancing in this space.

Xiaomi brand has done well since the launching of Xiaomi-14 and Xiaomi-15 is doing even better.
Xiaomi will probably get themselves dubbed as the next CeeCeePee blacklisted company which can only buy Qualcomm 4G chips.

It's funny to see Koreans fantasizing they can compete with China on software
No kidding. The Koreans would be better off sticking with hardware innovation in display technology like they used to.
Samsung's software offerings like Tizen OS were always lackluster and flops.

In case of emergency they may license Huawei Kirin chips and also they have been developing a 3nm chip of their own. The year 2025 is too optimistic of a date, maybe 2026 when the expected Chinese EUVL is ready to be used for mass production of 3nm chip.
