Can the J-10 be navalazied with just 1, more powerful engine and perhaps a TVC?

I think this is possible but not a good idea. Naval fighters are supposed to fly longer range and fly on sea. Consider if one engine shuts down, the fighter still have another engine to fly back to its base. If it's a single engine and if the engine shuts down the only thing the fighter can do is to visit the dragon palace :D

China CAC designer told the Chinese internet reporter there is no any one foreigner attended J-10 project ( I think the foreigner means russia or Israel ).
the pic above is that the reporter showed the J-10 model when he visited CAC. we can see J-10 payload weapon with 11 missiles, but we don't know any more room for loading oil tank or not.
Hi, BlueJacket: for J-10 to be navalazied, my oppinion just for you reference:
J-10 Max take off weight only 19.2 ton, Mig-29 Max take off weight is 21 ton. if J-10 with Al31fn TVO engine is better for S/TL, but compare with Mig-29K, J-10 payload will be much less, especialy single engine fighter not good for the complex bad sea weather.and J-10 the plane air inlet at the abdomen, it is not enogh strong to support the front plane alighting carriage.
so I think US never consider F16 to be navalazied.

all have 1 engine.
I suppose that if the PLAN won't get anything better for whatever reason, it probably would make sense to navalize J-10 even without designing a 2-engine derivative.
Apparently the engine inlet location wasn't a big problem for the the USN either!

The Rafale has a single tailfin even as a twin-engine naval fighter!

Just a short question: Does anyone know which Institute developed the digital Type-634 quadruplex “fly-by-wire” (FBW) system „Iron Eagle“ for the J-10 ??

Thanks in advance, Deino

From what I can gather on the web, 611 themselves developed the FBW for J-10 and JF-17. Even L-15 project supposedly got help from 611 for its FBW. Simiarly, J-11B's FBW was probably developed by 601. Whether or not it can reach the J-10 FBW is another story.

Isn't the J-11B FBW called the Feng Biao? That's according tot he J-11B poster. I had an impression the FBW is a variant of the one used on the JH-7A. Maybe or may not be correct.
