Seems I was right afterall, even BYDs executive Stella Li is admitting that this silly price war is a race to bottom which isn't good or sustainable not just for BYD but for every other Chinese brands and the Chinese EV industry. If they continue like that, then I'm afraid its a matter of time for the industry to go into a dangerous path and lead to the bankruptcy of even the competitive innovative EV companies.

Im,glad the government has called for stop of this price wars. They can compete on other sectors like car designs, customer after sales service, product differentiation etc etc.. Prices are already low enough, there shouldn't be anymore price cuts, else it becomes unsustainable and eats into the already thin profits margins of companies.

@tphuang whats your view on this?

Like I said, you just love to comment on things you know nothing about. Geely and others are the one that started the price war.

I don't think I ever said BYD was responsible for the price war? I just said the price wars among Chinese EVs companies is not sustainable. I never called out a single company. Since I don't know who really started it. I'm just looking at the bigger picture and making an observation. I believe its a good thing the government is getting involved?

Aren’t you a market economy guy? Switching to communism now?

Just let the market determines the price point. The Chinese government has forced all major car companies to pay their suppliers in 60 days, in effect forcing a wave of consolidation.

This photo taken on May 27, 2025 shows vehicles waiting for inspection and release at the road port of Horgos, northwest China's Xijiang Uygur Autonomous Region. As the largest land port for automobile exports in China, Horgos Port has implemented a 24-hour freight clearance system, working 7 days a week, to enhance trade logistics. According to statistics from Horgos Customs, the port had exported about 421,000 vehicles in 2024, reaching a new record high.

In recent years, the options for freight companies to choose from for outbound customs clearance to the neighboring Kazakhstan have become increasingly diverse, ranging from the traditional cage truck loading to the more flexible and low-cost "self-driving export", which have greatly facilitated the development of related businesses and continuously improved the customs clearance efficiency.
